I do remember that it was horrendus ofcourse at that time the dollar comparison was not as bad.. I remember ordering Foetus-Nail at HMV and having to pay about 20 GBP for it(German keyboard).. Basically i would not download any music (From Itunes , allofmp3 etc) if CDs cost a resonble 5 per album and lets face it thats still a massive proffit. Pay the artists 2.50 , production cost of.50 per CD(lets face it thats exagerating) and 2 pure profit on each album which is amazing considering how little they do.
Games in the UK are 30-40GBP or close albums are around 7-12 GBP so i would say the aproximations is close and yes it is a total rip off. The RIAA wonder why people download music for free in the EU , Bit hint boys its because your charging us near $20 per CD but i digress. Yes the main reason is that games are about 4* the price
Main problem with a big fine is that chances are he will pay the fine with the money he makes with spam. either that or file for bankruptcy/fake own death. 9 years Prison for this is OTT when you consider the punishment for most other crimes...however if i had ever heard of a great crime that deserves some community service then this is it. Chances are these people are not dangerous (prison) , certifiable(mental health institution)or poor(fines..((fun)).They are perfect for having their funds frozen and being sent into community service for a few years. Ofcourse , i can not really think of a better punishment and perhaps im just a bit soft however all i want is spam stoped and i think having the funds and assets from the crime frozen and a few years service is enough to deter anyone(and i mean all the funds from the spam)
Games have slowly been improving on the audio front for a long time , however many have failed to realise the importance of good voice work. The entire emmerison can be broken by 1 cheesy half baked accent or a some poorly read lines. I do not mind so much about the real actors however i would like games producers to start hiring real voice actors more often to fill the roles. As someone who has done profesional and amature voice work for games, radio and some TV it pains me all the more to hear amaturish maulings of what could have been an excelent scene , Honestly i would do games work for free if asked (some times not all the time) yet we still have to suffer the dead monotone ramblings of some of the worst actors this side of anime dubs.
Production Budget: $140 million Est. Marketing Costs: $70 million Damage to the reputation of the writters , the director and the actors : Priceless.... Seriously i can not be the only person in the world sick to death of remakes and live action versions...first TMNT(heros in a half shell , turtle power),then scoobie then garfield etc etc etc ad nausium. Please for the love of god stop bastardising my and many other peoples childhoods and get some new ideas. (im still pissed off what with what they did to garfield )
anyway i would be intrested to know where they are getting the real world giant transforming robots as i have um some world domination plans..
This is exactly the point , you need a dammed good balance. If i have to be working on the server localy in some fashion i would rather not be boiling or freezing. In the average working enviroment We cant have it in a refrigerated room as this would bring up alot of working issues and not to mention design of the room itself.on the other hand we don't want a drasticaly complex cooling system that would add another possible avenue for failure to occur. The best is possibly a nicely air conditioned room with a nice simple cooling system on the server , good airflow and a comfertable working enviroment.
This is how gouvernment works , we vote for a candidate whos views align with our own.. these are not faceless burocrats making these decisions these are our representitivs and thus should represent the collective will as wew voted for them and in this case all they are doing is enforcing the law
If you want to become an analyist, you must learn to touch your toes;) You must be willing to take large bribes from companys. You must be willing to lie out your behind for your new gods You must learn that 5 > 12 and last but not least , you must quote netcraft
This is not just the will of gouvernment burocrats , this is also the will of the people that they represent . MS has continued to abuse our laws and are now acting like a 3 year old and stomping around trying to not comply.
1:) MS could pull out of europe , but if they did EU companys who decide to use MS products would have support from the now independent MSEU and would be paying them for the software
2:) MS could not afford to pull out of europe as giving this market to the competitors would force anyone who wants to do bussiness with the EU to use an open standard thus hurting MS in not just the European market
3:) MS has no option but to comply , They have had the right to apeal which has done no good for them . Companys do not have the rights of citizens in the EU,they are treated as entitys . The EU can forcibly enforce the order if needed , companys can not be allowed to walk all over the law and bribe their way out .;) i do like to see people sticking it to the gouvernment , but i love to abusive companys get it stuck to them by the gouvernment and the people
The title is a bit misleading in its current form , after reading the artical i find that it should be "Aussie TV Networks sit around doing little ". This is a world wide phenominon and i personaly download some TV shows , One simple fact why i do it here,German TV dubs programs and i hate dubbing(that and i dont own a TV anymore though i do have access to one if needed).
Its more than just the fact the TV shows are not broadcast in a region in a timely fashion or that they want an origional show when they want it. DVD-/+R/rw and CD-r/rw are far cheaper than comparitive vhs tapes , Having the show exactly when you want it without having to worry about setting the recorder (etc) is relaxing,People hate adverts (20 minute shows that last 45 minutes due to 25 minutes of intersperced Crap for things that i do'nt need or want and am less likely to buy after being forced to view the tripe that they purvay) and finaly its just so dammed cool at the moment ( i ran out of good reasons).
I have an imac g3 dv se+ (400mhz) and 383MB ram. it runs fine (both gnome and kde ) and if i were to install xfce or perhaps fluxbox even(which would run perfectly)it would fly. as for the duel boot , i did not bother trying , but i would imagine it is easy as it gives a boot prompt and the wiki and installer info for ubuntu is probably present online. Basicaly i wouldnt worry about performance (FYI: i did run OS X on it for a while and whilst not extremly fast it is workable if you tone down some gloss, i even was able to use photoshop (like the magnification on the dock))the g3 is still a rather good procesor whilst not being in the same class as the g4 at the same clock speeds it still holds its own well. Oh and yes the installer does have a partitioner , i did not test it throughly though as i was wipping the 60GB HDD i had in the machine so just set it to erase everything... have you tried the live CD actualy,, there is one on the ubuntu website which should give you a good idea about performance and let you try it out and see if its your cup of tea . In sumation , Partition present works not knowing how well aparently stable , PErformance is not really an issue but i wouldnt flood the machine with open apps, try live CD first if your on broadband of some form, read wiki , it runs gnome and kde well
Just because your let off due to a mistrial does not mean your life is not ruined , if i was in a high profile case and I was highly suspected of being guilty but had the case droped as it was a mistrial ( as opposed to me being convicted or let off due to a verdict of innocence) do you think due to the nature of the case that anyone would want to employ someone with a stigma like this over their head
Ive never found any prejudices to hold much ground... ofcourse i am a Scottsman so wherever i have traveld and struck up a conversation in a bar i get bought drinks and asked about what i wear under my kilt (if i hear another joke about that i will go loco). I went to france and found the people to be really nice and freindly..I am in germany and get the same response.. i meet traveling people from the USA and what do you know , i find then to be nice people who treat me with respect. Though i have met a fair few prats from many difrent lands.. the whole thing is people are people wherever you go,People from the Netherlands are just like folks from brazil or aborigional australians we are all just people and little cultural difrences are the spice that makes us difrent and intresting(that and our personalitys). Seriously if you treat people with respect you get respect in return..viva
haah sounds about righ Up in Scotland we had some more crazy ideas about dating than our neighbours south of the border , we decided not to use those old school toothing tech and went to the more advanced tounging;)
Doing makes sence though,I didn't not even notice they had written doung till you pointed it out;) My procesor has better fualt tollerance appparently hehe
"ANS recently asked current certified individuals (in an email) to provide quotes about the value of their certifications for an upcoming brochure. Since the requirements have changed, the value of the certification has changed as well, making any quotes an unfair assessment of value"
This is a rather underhand unless they make it perfectly open that the degree has changed in this way , to use a crude example its like using a rave review of crunchynut conrflakes to describe cornflakes(my imagination is aprently not here tonight)....
Personaly i have always found practical tests to be some of the most valuable in the IT field , Theory is wonderufll but it needs to be backed up by a solid foundation of workable skill . to use another example I could explain to you how a car engine works in some detail but dammed if i could build one. Testing to see for both theoretical knowlidge and practical skill is important for a well rounded education ( well testing is important to check your educating properly, but the most important is practical education and lab work)
Hm well i did not want to awnser myself but yes i agree , i do not see why my post is flamebait , i am not bashing firefox... I have used it since the early days and love the browser dearly... and i do not think it is wrong to point out that this is a bug compared to IEs active X being an insecure feature.. (I do not care about the karma , my karma is maxed out and this wont hurt it any)
This is not about freedom of speach , this is about a fair trial , because this info has been leaked now this man(who may very well be guilty or not i do not know ) has now some obviously very persuave arguments against him out in the open ready to be editorialised and scurtinised. Now i agree with freedom but when that freedom hurts someone else i think we have a responsiblity to hold back.
"The information, I gather, is very, very damaging and very prejudicial," Shanoff said.
if this gets out this can cause alot of problems. Now i agree you cant stop change , but you must learn to use it responsibly. The sky may not have falen for most of us , but the person on trial has just potentialy had their life ruined(i repeat i do not know much about this case , so maybe they deserve it) so perhaps this is not a legal issue , but the person who posted the blog should not have done this right now (the person who leaked it should definantly be nailed to the wall though) from an ethics standpoint , If bloggers want to be seen as journalists then ethics should really be important.
The gag order does not apply , but the blogger must of known about it and for this reason is in the USA.There is perhaps no legal issue , but the ethics are definantly in question here
from the looks of it , these problems are not affecting the rest of the OS(as far as i can tell from the explination on secuna) i did a few tests and it is only reading the memory area from the browser , how far into the memory it can go i do not know (does it say ? the secuna advisory is shallow on details as ussual). Well unlike MSIE this is a bug rather than a feature(ActiveX) and all software has bugs but aparently it is patched so will be rolled out soon. Getting details on this is not the easyes but acording to the bug reports someone was saying the problem was perhaps in the browser for the last 8 years..
