Evolution is not up there with gravity. I can demonstrate gravity in that I'm not floating in space. You can not demonstrate to me photos going back millions of years of each generation of chimps becoming closer and closer to humans until one of them actually is a human. You find some fossils buried and assume because two look alike that one must have evolved from the other instead of them both being made by One Being. It's actually a humongous leap to assume some human like fossil must have belonged to a being that eventually had a descendant that is a human. I personally reject that leap.
But who is to say who's right or wrong? Each side claims to have the evidence. Each side discounts the evidence of the other. And the majority opinion is not necessarily right either. Science is full of uncertainties.
The Bible has thousands of years of evidence and believers in the Christian/Jewish God have existed for eons before evolutionists. Many scientific theories have come and gone and if you've really been deluded into thinking there's no way evolution is false, then I feel sorry for you. Every scientific theory is up for debate and when you say this one isn't then you're no longer a scientist.
Ice Hockey was one of my favorite games for the NES. Playing as the goaltender is done as well or better than any ice hockey game since its time. Now you're gonna force me to find my old cartridge.
"This is about right. Cable TV hit about 60% market penetration by household in the US [ncta.com] years ago, and has been stuck there since. That's probably about where Internet penetration will end up."
Cable TV penetration is 61.3%.
Meanwhile, DirecTV and EchoStar Communications combined for a 25.2% penetration.
So I'm not sure how your analysis is in any way applicable to internet penetration.
I will buy this if they make an optional C64 Disc Drive available and/or a way to plug in cartridges. If it's just slapping a Commodore sticker on a regular PC, then no.
They aren't sure if the computer is really utilizing quantum mechanics. Whenever they study the computer, they end up changing it. *bada bum!* Thanks, I'll be here all week.
At least most every American has heard of the Japanese-American Internment Camps. Nobody ever speaks of the thousands of Germans who were interred in America during the second world war. In fact, thousands of German-Americans were sent to Germany in exchange for Americans. The German-Americans, being sent there against their will, were looked upon as spies and were suddenly in the middle of a war zone. The United States even asked many Latin American countries to arrest people of German descent and send them to America. The US in turn sent those to Germany in exchange for Americans. You can read all the details here: http://www.foitimes.com/internment/gasummary.htm
Raise your hand if you're surprised they still make games for the Dreamcast. However, I'm in favor of anything that keeps an old console alive. I wish Nintendo would still produce SNES carts.
"Collisions with automobiles and trucks result in the deaths of between 60 and 80 million birds annually in the U.S"
That would imply that approximately 1 out of 4 or 5 people every year in the US collide with a bird. I have never hit a bird and neither has anyone in my family. Are we just that lucky or are there a smaller number of people hitting way more than 1 bird a year?
From the article: "Any treatment that may emerge to help at least some patients would likely be years away from hitting the market."
Slashdot interpretation of "years away": "in two years"
What is to keep the domains of these services from being blacklisted for use? There are already many websites that require you to use the primary e-mail address of your ISP like a comcast.net or aol.com.
Ok, seriously people. This doesn't garner "troll". Do you people really understand the purpose of rating something "troll"? Disagree with the premise all you want but any good psychologist (which I'm not) can explain much more clearly how damaging pornography is to women (and men) who are in it.
I think it's safe to say that pornography exploits to a much greater degree than a desk job. Pornography steals a woman's innocence, degrades her in the eyes of millions and herself. It impairs the ability to form intimate relationships (just as with any promiscuous individual). Think of her children on the playground, "Your mommy is a slut!" or "You're a bastard!"
"Or more likely, gotten a law degree instead of a degree in medicine or microbiology."
Because we all know how little people with degrees in medicine, ie doctors, make.
"Linus is married to Tove Torvalds (born Monni). She is a six-time Finnish national Karate champion, whom he first met in the autumn of 1993."
Smart move for Linus. Someone who is as big of a nerd as Linus is definitely needs protection from bullies. (No offense to Linus)

In other news, Microsoft is renaming their console the XBox 390 and plans on releasing 390 games in the fiscal year.
You're protesting the right of a private group to open up a museum of their own? That's sick and an abuse of the right of the people to assemble.
Philips already tried it with the CDi. It failed miserably.
Raise you're hand if you've ever heard of "Taiyo Yuden".
You cannot state that PS2's first full holiday season was 2001 when the system was released Oct. 26, 2000 so your whole comparison falls flat.

I realize that. However when someone uses the term "years away", it's usually implied that the number is not equal to 2.

That's a moot point. I don't have to understand something completely for it to be true.

I'm a troll, why? I'm a doctor for crying out loud. I know how much I make. Look at my username. Please someone correct this injustice.

And it only took 15 minutes for someone to try and start the Lego/Legos/Lego(Tm) wars. (See the first post in this thread)
