So when they call tech support and inevitably speak to some one in India, Is the technician allowed to use a name that is appropriate to the region or will they still be forced to use a fake American name, such George?
Seems like this fear sensor could be used other places and be, possibly, more effective. How about on the borders where people are smuggling illegal drugs and also illegal aliens into the country. Couldn't this also be used there.
Or maybe they don't want to use it there because the "War on Drugs" has existed longer than the "War On Terror" and is really a government conspiracy to warp the minds of the youth, so the government can eventually control their brains...blah, blah, blah.
Why go out and spend precious money on a DVD recorder when you can find anything, and I mean anything online and through P2P file sharing. With the cost of a DVD-RW for a PC these days it's really more cost efficient to buy a DVD-RW and download whatever show commercial movie, or porn and then burn it to DVD using your precious PC tools. So what's the point in buying a DVD recorder.
Actually I think you have it backwards. You are guilty in the eyes of the law until proven innocent. Why else would they arrest someone and hold them in jail awaiting the trial. If you were presumed to be innocent then you would be free to go do as you pleased because everyone believes you to be innocent until proven otherwise. In fact the whole thing is an oxymoron, how can one say that "we presume you to be innocent, yet we must believe that you are guilty otherwise we wouldn't be trying to prove that you were guilty"
But it's ultimately bad for the earth because you have to get a new drive to replace the old drive that was ruined, which is then dumped, causing demand to go up, increasing global warming, bringing earth even closer to Armageddon, after which only cockroaches and old Honda trail bikes will exist, the few humans that do remain will be abducted by aliens and forced into slavery in some asteroid mine in the Omega galaxy.
If it only infects unlocked iPhones, then wouldn't it kind of make a person wonder as to WHO actually wrote the program to begin with. Funny that it won't infect phones that are following all of Apple's rules.
That may be the way "REAL" security experts do it. You need to keep in mind the person is a journalist and propably not a security expert. Besides if you were to use a Linux LiveCD to login and have no HDD or Flash Drive plugged into the machine, no damage would be done, at all.
I'm not big on Microsoft...In fact I can't stand the way they do business.
But if you happen to be in the field of Computer Repair or even MS Security (I know that's an oxymoron). Microsoft can make you loads of money. Since all MS Products are buggy and virus prone, people in the these industries should be praising Microsoft for giving them a way to support themselves and their families.
I can't help but think about all the other anti-trust BS that they've been through that has changed NOTHING.
I see what you're saying in them having a right, but by a marketing stand point, wouldn't it make sense to allow people like this...who obviously have nice looking cars...to put out a calender with pictures of Ford (or Form) cars in it. If they are that worried about losing money to foreign cars then by allowing car clubs and other organizations to print things like calenders would be like having free advertising. So when you can advertise for free from people who absolutely love your product why would you rather try to rape them in the end by forcing them to pay a fee to Ford, which if it was me involved would turn me off to Ford products all together and in the end force people out of the market of buying Ford vehicles.
Ah Yes! Welcome to the USSA. China already does this....

Let's just give these script kiddies more possible exploits into an already buggy and secureless OS.
And will you be leading that discussion?

Really, being forced to stay in jail against your will isn't punishment? Hmmm...that's funny seems like it would be punishment to me.

A way for all those addicted to MMOs to be even more incapable of doing anything else...
Who ever modded the parent down on this must have been one of those intelligen...er....honest, reasonable, and impartial judges.
Who said anything about "intelligent" judges?
You could do what most do...look at porn.

Ok, so I'm a jackass...no really.
Not at all, but please do explain the damage that could be caused. Enlighten me.

Interesting that on /. the only way I can get any replies to my posts is if I post something that is in opposition to the majority of the people on /.
What bandwagon?
Well, if you believe what the bible says then the story of the Tower of Babel would explain the diversity in humans.
Then I guess I didn't get it right and I'll spend the rest of eternity in Hell along with you everyone else who didn't get it right. :)
