yeh thats IF i lasts that long.
i purchased some CFL's for our co-op hallway common areas as these are on 24 hours a day....freakign things burn out ever 3-4 months (the power usage dropped a lot though)
nope some people have a different opinion to you and thinking boadband like roads are a good thing to get laid once and then shared commercially.
oh i'm sorry did you fucking drive on your own private road today in capitalist australia no so shut the fuck up.
i agree, you cant convince some people though so lets jsut wait for 3 years once stage 1 is deployed and then ask them to take their foot out of their respective mouths.
actually high frequency trading IS good for the economy it provides liquidity, eg you know you can pretty much always sell your shares as these HF traders have the orders ready for purchase etc.
the problem for this is they aren't forced to buy back the phone you purchased from them as the radio frequency wont work on other carriers.
i think carriers should be forced to buy out your hardware when they change the rules mid contract.
i have no issue with broadband caps AS LONG AS isp's have no issues giving up exclusive rights to geographical areas.
as soon as time warner cable introduces caps i intend to petition for the eliination of their exclusive rights via the courts.
are you sure you want to take that step time warner?
Youtube streamed the entire IPL4 cricket tournament. I appreciate that no one in the USA noticed.....:) but it was pretty cool for everyone who liked cricket.

http://blog.collins.net.pr/2011/04/would-you-trust-timewarner-to-manage.html
Your cable provider maintains a data connection into your home, even if you dont use them for internet and use wimax/cell hotspot/steal the neighbours wifi instead to provide your home internet connection there is still a cable box sitting in most living rooms and most of the time it's doing very little.
You can see with the recent timewarner/comcast/verizon value add functionality such as whole house dvr, ipad remote view, comcast remote dvr storage that they are all looking to develop additional functionality (and billing).
So i guess my question is this, if your dvr is sitting there doing very little would you trust your cable company to put in wireless infra-red and motion detectors into your house and then use the dvr as a base monitoring system or do you have so little faith in the "cable company" for things to work properly that there is no way in hell you would trust them to monitor your home security....?
What do you think?
When we were building out our 14 live chat sites eg - http://www.livef1chat.com/
- http://www.livebasketballchat.com/
- http://www.livehockeychat.com/ etc etc
All of the developers were saying no need to build databases, just use Facebook login to provide access and control.
Not a chance.
Users can “link” their account to their facebook (you can post in real time to your facebook wall and your twitter stream from within out live chat apps) but there is no way to use our platform without registering for it first and that’s the way its going to be – some people see this as a stumbling block, i see it as good business sense.
because i'm the founder of www.LiveChatConcepts.com which features 14 websites around live sporting events such as
http://www.livebaseballchat.com/http://www.livefootballchat.com/http://www.livehockeychat.com/http://www.livebasketballchat.com/
etc etc - i see a lot of these sites streaming media (we dont stream any media, just provide chats that start and close with each event)
I can understand why IP owners are trying to get them shut down as they pay a lot for the rights to stream football/basketball/soccer etc.
When people use blogger/justin.tv etc as a tool to bypass these PPV's you have to understand that is moeny being taken out of their pocket. You might say well the NFL makes 9b a year thats plenty, maybe but my neighbour works for a stadium and if you dont pay...he doesnt get paid if you know what i mean.
So whilst it's easy to poke fun of the courts going after blogger (though not sure why they didnt go after justin.tv etc is beyond me) the point is what should they be doing to recoup their money?
Any Thoughts?
only 6 teams dont have cheerleaders....and 2 make the superbowl.
Does that say something about work ethic of these two teams? i dont know you make that call.

I've been working with a friend for the last year part time on a series of websites one of which is http://www.livefootballchat.com/
We're trying to get more traction so if you could sign in with your facebook account now that would be great.
Basically it's a live chat site for the NFL football games where you can chat live with your facebook friends +post updates to your wall +post to twitter +email friends +buddylist + badges etc.
The CHurl for the Super Bowl is http://www.livefootballchat.com/CHurl/02-03-2011/10173/5014 if you want to join us from 6pm on.
Yeh but is it unrestricted?
I bet you they are blocking ports or in the T&C's they are blocking you for running home servers etc.
I use Time Warner (NYC) and they have never flagged my email or web servers running on my servers at home on the end of my cable service.
LOL - have you read how many people are saying "this ipad is great and I just cant wait to get a keyboard for it". FTW - it's called a Notebook. Read here why Jobs is going to make Murdoch look like a genius.
