I've just come to realize that I stand for almost all that the Old Republican party stands for. But there seems to be no party that follows those standards anymore...
Both parties are pro big government I'm pro education I'm against the welfare system in it's current state (I live in NY state...it's abused so bad here) I'm not rich so I'm taxed I'm not poor so i'm taxed I'm not rich so I don't have a nice house I'm not poor so the government isn't buying me a brand new HUD home...(once again...go NY State!) I don't have 8 children and one more on the way so the government isn't paying my way through life...
on and on... and...I'm not christian.
My needs are not met by any party. So I vote with my brain instead of party affiliation. I may be registered Republican, but i voted Democrat in 2004 Elections.
That might be it, but I don't think anyone buying a Macintosh is interested in "Free" anything. The hardware, software both come from a very proprietary history.
If you want Freedom, stick with more open architectures. If you don't care as much (like me), then buy a mac, a Sun box, anything from Silicon Graphics, etc...
I used to think this as well. You can boot your Mac into Darwin without the UI, you can run almost any POSIX compliant app. With Fink, you can compile hundreds of applications.
But then I realized it, some people just like linux. There is a certain allure to it.
It's really not Microsoft charging for this. BethSoft is charging PC users $2.00 for the patch and Xbox360 users get charged $2.50. Probably because it costs BethSoft money to put this thing on Xbox Live.
I know i'm going to be modded down for this, but I like the savory taste of bacon more than I like the tantalizing taste of turkey./me waits for the results.
No,no,no you see, it's slashdot. Nothing good can come from using Microsoft technology.
Roll your eyes, sigh then just melt into the groupthink that is Slashdot. You want to become a mindless parroting serf like everyone else. It's all good. "Everything is going to be O.K."...
Remember, ActiveX is bad, Linux is good. With Linux you can't do bad. You can have a website that administers a whole cluster of Linux servers protected ONLY by a htaccess prompt and it will be awesome as long as it's running on Linux!
Well, yes. TWI bought AOL. But they also bought HBO, Time Magazine, Cartoon Network and a metric fuckton of other media outlets. AOL was a way of delivering content from the others to the customer but using the Intarweb.
But, road runner is a product of Timewarner cable, and is therefore a wholy distinct product from the AOL junk. AOL does resell it's product with RR as a medium as well. I don't think AOL is looked upon nicely at Timewarner either, due to mismanagement.
nonsense is right. The mac mini is a great computer, it's small, cleanly designed and not right for the living room.
It has a hard drive, it's got moving parts, it's a computer. What is needed is something like the Linksys media center extender, which is just a simple extension to the Microsoft Media Center. That can be anywhere, and then you have a computer that can be upgraded, changed out, have raid attached, whatever you want.
Sure it's a Microsoft solution but it works, and it works well for me so far.
The Xbox 360 has a built in Media Center Extender. You never have to get up and walk into the office in order to queue up data. Instead, it offers an on screen guide of all artists, albums, movies, etc and you choose from there.
The alienware store works a LOT like the dell store does now. Upselling Norton, the warranties are a lot like Dell's now...it just reminds me of when I bought my laptop.
Yeah but do they advertise about being Suburban white boy friendly guilds? No? Shouldn't it be assumed that they are friendly first...and possibly advertise that they aren't?
I can see it now:
Knights of Authoritative Ruling is Gender, race, gay, lesbian, puppy, kitten, gold fish, furry, vegan, vegetarian, republican, democratic, green, socialist, communist, nazi, jewish, christian,...ad nauseum, friendly guild looking to recruit. We'll give you 10G just for signing up!
Amazingly, my girlfriend has never seen it.
I was shocked when I found out on Halloween when I was watching it and she asked what it was...
What, he yells at you till you cry then Oprah says "You're so amazing, Dr Phil"?
No thanks..
How is WGA frustrating? I have absolutely no problem with installing that Application once and letting it do whatever it needs to in the background.
Lots of people use Real player...with their monthly Rhapsody subscriptions.
I've just come to realize that I stand for almost all that the Old Republican party stands for. But there seems to be no party that follows those standards anymore...

That's the neocons for you. They aren't real Republicans...they are like uber conservative scary Democrats.

I dunno where this is coming from but you can get unlimited DRM laden windows files on your Play for sure device for $16 through rhapsody.
$60/mo is outrageous.
It's not that big. The person holding the dvd is holding one of those mini cds from the mid 90s and is a midget.
Let's try it!

interesting...up here we see AOL sold with DSL before RR.
AOL cut some really good deals with the phone companies. More so than TWC can sell RR to them for.

How would making anyone give source code back help financial issues?
The GPL trolls are out on slashdot and osnews about this one...
And those who makes decisions between the two companies are not really involved with each other. AOL was a mistake...and TW aknowledges that.
TimeWarner dropped the AOL a while ago. It's just Time Warner. Show me where, on any Time Warner affiliated site it says AOL/TW...

mmm Yes... Let's compare Software Patents to the Holocaust.
Good job!

This is rather wierd feeling.
I have a Scientific Atlanta Explorer 8000 DVR. Timewarner rents these to us.
It has a fan, runs excessively hot and I was told not to put it in my AV cabinet because it would over heat...
Doesn't work like it used to anymore...you can't just assume that because it's not a computer that you can lock it in a space with no moving air.
Yeah but do they advertise about being Suburban white boy friendly guilds? No? Shouldn't it be assumed that they are friendly first...and possibly advertise that they aren't?

The M$ makes you look like an idiot.
