I guess my issue with HTML5 right now is that I'm willing to switch from flash, but I can't figure out how to author vector based, typography and video, intensive sites that run on HTML5 without coding them by hand.
I agree with this. I had the same dilemma with my nephew and decided that flash scripting is the best route, because he can immediately involve graphics animations and etc.
Cellco's are nothing but misery. Overcharging customers, blocking progress, failing to invest in proper infrastructure. It just needs to end, they need to start providing customers with conduits for data, and start competing based on the volume, reliability and price of that conduit. All this other nonsense needs to end.
Why on earth are we even buying cell phones from cell phone companies. That's like buying laptops from your ISP. It needs to end. Our culture, our economy, and the rest of human progress cannot wait any longer.
Sounds like they are getting strategy advice from the record industry. How about building decent cars that people want to buy. So that in twenty years there will be more calenders celebrating your products.
this room isn't smokey enough. Oh and don't worry about the college kids. As I said before college students are not known for rebelling against draconian measures aimed specifically at them.
The Jesus Zune... time for someone somewhere to get excited about a product that is about to revolutionize the Zune market. I for one am selling my stock in other Zunes.
The problem with the article is that it uses the words "have developed" as in "have developed an inexpensive solar cell that can be painted or printed on flexible plastic sheets" when in reality it sounds more like "have an idea for" or "have developed a concept for" pending the advancement of material science. I seems they haven't built or tested..I mean painted a prototype, so the article is getting ahead of itself a bit maybe.
What are the chances that you could someday have your iPhone, and buy from some carrier just an unlimited data plan, no voice. And then use a voice-over-ip service such as Skype as your primary voice provider. How much hacking would this take, and does any carrier provide data service without voice.
What are you up against if you are sick of minutes, text message plans and this is your goal?
Does anyone have an idea about why google is taking so long to add the Mass Transit feature, for any major US cities such as New York? http://www.google.com/transit . Seems like this feature would get more long term use than any of their other products and might have tremendous social consequences and yet its not a priority.
I know that the Blue-ray vs. HD-DVD war was often cast like VHS vs. BETA-max. Beta was of course a better technology which lost out to better marketing and costs. It seems that in the digital era the same economics are not in play. Blue-ray is (I'm pretty sure) the better technology and it seems to be winning. Good.
I was reading about how people satisfy their intellectual needs through random paragraphs, and at that ery moment I was satisfying my intellectual needs from a random paragraph. Who is this guy...

I'll say it again. They should change "Poke" to "Stalk" cuz that's what it's for.
I breathlessly browsed over to Wikipedia.org. Good news, it's still useful.

That can't be the whole story. So if you don't use AT&T you don't have the App. So what.
Why is it that the device must be tied to a particular service. Forgive me but I've just never understood this?

Why doesn't google go and get that information instead of waiting for beauracrats. Or create a less accurate model that can't predict times. KISS.

It's a congregation of perfectly black rectangles each measuring 1 by 4 by 9.
There is a famous movie about this problem. Made in 1988, way to get the scoop /.
