The problem is this: there shouldn't be a link in the email. The user shouldn't even be able to copy and paste a URL from the email.
It seems, then, that the safest way of ensuring this is just to request no emails. Or, manually type in the URL of the bank. (But then you have to *remember* to do that.)
Tell the bank that you won't be reading any emails from them, and that they'd better send you snail mail or phone you. If they say that won't be possible, just go elsewhere and let (a) the first bank know why you won't bank with them, and (b) the second bank know why you are banking with them. Provide this information in letter format.
Not to mention, when you get a business degree, you will be able to more easily understand why management does as they do, and get along better with your managers. Then you're likely to get promoted in-house, in which case your "underlings" will know you as a programmer and you'll likely get respect. You'll also be able to understand them, and make informed decisions. A bridge between management and IT. Just don't try to micromanage.
Of course, that's in-house. Getting a different job would be easier, too.
Another thing is your health. It may not be a good idea for health reasons to program all day long into your sixties. Just a thought.
Besides, like all everyone here says, it is the users own fault for not using a firewall. Having an expectation that 8 yr old attacks should be fixed is just unreasonable.
Firewall is ON by default. If you're going to turn it OFF, Windows warns you. Windows can't stop you from making your computer insecure if you want to. You could just as well make a Remote Desktop account with Admin priveleges and no password.

I may be incredibly dense (drunk), and I have never messed about with my home phones. Essentially, I would like all my phones to go through Vonage, but act exactly like normal phones. Is this a way of doing this? The article goes into detail about Soft Phones, but I have no interest in that.
Any points for a beginner looking for information?
Nice summary. I haven't seen that many Es in my life since... well, that rave I went to. But then, I can't remember much from before that rave, so I may once have read a summary with more Es. Stay in school.
Want to hear the radio? Buy a radio. Want to take pictures? Buy a camera. Want to go on the net? Buy a computer.
That's all very well and good, but I can't fit a radio, a camera, a computer, and a phone in my pockets at the same time.
By the way, your inclusion of "computer" is funny, since a computer is a multi-purpose device in itself. Would you also advise people to have one web browsing computer, one emailing computer, one games machine, one mp3 player, all separate?
There are many benefits to convergence, let's not let that case go unstated.
If that's all your kids have been up to on the internet when you're not watching, you're in OK shape...
I know! I just found out my boy was posting on some nerd forum where they have some fetish for penguins, grits, apples, and "OSS". (I assume this "OSS" is a spelling of "ass" where the "a" is stretched disproportionately. I've seen some disturbing pictures on that site he visits!)
You try and try and try to raise them right, but....
I hope breathing fresh air is never patented.
What's the use in patenting it if we can't get it any more?

A Business degree
I second that.

No! On slashdot, everything is the user's fault.
Or Microsoft's.
Besides, like all everyone here says, it is the users own fault for not using a firewall. Having an expectation that 8 yr old attacks should be fixed is just unreasonable.

Surely you mean cunterstrike?
I suppose you were born with an innate knowledge of all acronyms appearing on the Slashdot front page?
Thank you. I was going to post, too, but given my already "Bad" Karma, I thought better of it. Glad to see someone agrees.
In any case, here is an explanation of PBX -- it certainly helped me.

My Karma! Noooooo!
Nice summary. I haven't seen that many Es in my life since... well, that rave I went to. But then, I can't remember much from before that rave, so I may once have read a summary with more Es. Stay in school.
Well, given that this year is the year of Linux/OSS, I would say by December at the longest!

I recently took one of those high speed trains, from Amsterdam to Frankfurt. It was very pleasant.
Of course it was pleasant. After being in Amsterdam for a while, doing anything is pleasant. You may also be hungry.
That really turns my crank.
I don't mean to be an old crank, but I really don't think my pockets will fit this.
When you have to make your own power, you're less inclined to crank up the volume on that iPod shuffle.
The only problem is you can only listen to alternative music on it.
I'll need someone to give me a hand with this.
Looks like a fine prodcut, but how much will they charge?
Hopefully no more than an arm and a leg! I'll need at least one arm.
No fair, it's my turn!
Does this mean the iPod shuffle uses the ARM processor?
Tip your waitresses folks, they're good people! Try the buffet! I'll be here all week!
