  1. BayWatch v CSI on ACLU to Challenge Utah Porn-Blocking Law · · Score: 1
I am 20 and I can remember at chrch everyone said that Baywatch was evil because of the scantily clad women, but go to any church function where there was a pool (youth trips to the waterpark,get-togethers where people had a pool, so on) and the girls were wearing far less than anyone on bay watch. now fast forward to ~2-3 years ago when CSI was launched, it was the yage, if you didnt watch it (which I didn't and never will) you were an outcast (which I was) never mind all of the naked, mamed, raped, and mutilated bodies, that was just fine apperantly...

There are many more examples that I can sight but sufice to say, I do not want anyone telling me (or my ISP) what I can and cannot access.

I dont remember off hand who said it but I love this quote, it is something to the effect of "those who would give up liberty in the persuit of 'safety' deserve neither"

Here at schiil i have to give my SSN for everything, and every document I recive from the school has my ssn on it, I have repeatedly complained but no one gives a rats ass, i point out situations like this and it falls on deaf ears.

the problem is the "It cant happen to me, not in this little town, that only happens in the big city" mindset of old applied to technology. it seems like no one will learn untill it is too late for them.

the worst part is there is not a god damned thing I can do about it, everyone, like trained trones gives it out freely, without thought of the consequences, and when the policy is questioned, they look at me like my tin foil hat is too tight or something...

Browsers can be totaly safe, as much as I hate to say it, IE can be pretty safe too. just follow these rules:
    1:USE A FIREWALL
    2: update your browser
3:disable ActiveX, any site that uses it is a site you should learn to live without.
4: (the one most often broken) DONT CLICK YES ALL THE TIME, warnings are there for a reason.
5: Dont DL and run STUPID executables

Most Browsers do a decent job of protecting you fron the bad stuff, but NOTHING can protect you from yourself, short of cutting the cable, and if you do that, dont run with scisors
