Because of my HRT, the more likely prognosis is nice performance and then I get diagnosed with prostate cancer and then I go to zero performance and all kinds of low hormone emotional problems.
Men should generally get their hormones checked-- male "menopause" hits in the 40's but affects some men in their 20's and 30's now that we have so many estrogen like chemicals floating around in our environment.
I agree with what you are saying-- the study I read (can't find a darn link after googling for a few minutes) indicated that having a child postpones the split for 4 to 5 years each time the couple has a child. When couples finally stop having children, the study found that break rate rises world wide- independent of culture and other factors.
I'm a broken human being-- codependent and amnesiac of apparently severe abuse by a stepfather (can't remember very much before the age of 8.) But I'm reasonably self aware and well adjusted and keep working on self improvement.
And I want to share the few bits of knowledge and happiness I've gleaned to maybe save the next generation some grief and give them a bit more happiness and good sex so I was pretty blunt and open.
The party crowd seems to be young-- partying seems to tear people up so they can only do it for a couple decades. I skipped and *miss* the partying phase because I married young and was a nerd (lots and lots of dnd, married sex and sf movies instead of clubbing). Every party group I stumble on now seems to be on the edge of breaking apart- and you really do not see a lot of old people in clubs.
To be fair, I left out the category who just has no interest (men and women).
If there is not resentment or emotional damage in the relationship, a hormone issue is often behind lack of desire.
When I went on hormones, it was like a lightswitch. Suddenly I had lust again, I could think straight, I stopped having night sweats, I started getting restful sleep, and I was a lot less emotional (I was becoming estrogen dominant). Since then I've furred up too.
You are very lucky. Because the bible actually says a lot about not having mixed marriages-- Search for "equally yoked" but I wouldn't share it with your wife. It might save you from some of the pitfalls tho.

But here's the problem.... Hubby or Wife asks spouse for sex and is rejected. Ego hit. And unavoidable. Enough ego hits, and you just don't WANT to risk another rejection. Deadly Embrace condition.
Meanwhile, the guy or lady you see on the sly only at lunchtime on thursdays is there for *one* thing. If you are not feeling well, you cancel it in advance and no rejection. That sex is *incredible* over a long enough period. No rejections, no ego damage to your sex drive. And then the idiots split up with their spouse and go into a "real" relationship with their sex partner and over 75% are split up within 12 months.
Sometimes I think we should marry our spouse and then we and our spouse find other sex partners. Maybe not the first child bearing marriage but any second or third marriages.
Women and men lose their sex drives for a particular person (re: Calvin Coolidge's famous rooster discussion with his wife).
However- if you are a man and lost your sex drive big time- GET YOUR HORMONES checked. A lot of men find they are down in the 200's to 300's and should be in the 500's . As a testicular cancer survivor (16 years! Woo woo! would have been dead 2 years earlier because no cure), this hit me when I was 43. I got treated and turned back the clock to like I was a mid 30 year old again.
A woman whose body works well (no endometriosis, abuse issues, etc.) can climax every 2 to 3 minutes for an indefinite period. The best a man can do is either edge forever, or train themselves to climax without ejaculation (came close but never succeeded myself but some do).
One huge piece of advice... get a massage table ($300). So much better than a bed. Soooooo much better than a bed. You can adjust the height by inches (so you hit the right spots inside her) and instead of doing push-ups (every frikkin muscle in the body except the inner ear) for an hour, you are only screwing (so mainly abs, gluts and triceps). It is marvelous for all parties concerned.
Because of our weak egos, ladies do well who push those buttons. I can see when they are pushing my buttons and it still feels good. Ladies in their 40's who didn't have something go wrong, like sex as much or more than younger women. I was married and monogamous most of my 20's so I don't have a lot of comparison in that age. In my 30's they wanted sex but a lot seemed to be screwed up by their previous relationships. In their 40's they knew what they wanted and went for it. I wonder what the 50's and 60's will be like.
Small tribes and isolation prevented any bad repercussions for free sex.
In my 50 years of experience there are three types of women * Those who hate sex (common and really sad- seems to last decades) * Those who are extremely promiscuous (uncommon but more common than you think) * Those who enjoy sex and are reasonably or totally monogamous (uncommonly for a decade, rare for a lifetime)
Based on actual experience, if you are not afraid of loss, the best partner is a couple days a week and then the rest of the time you do guy stuff. A full time wife/girlfriend can be stifling unless you make them your life. I've done it both ways multiple times. I prefer the fwb and free time. Since I have extra meat to share, it works. I've been in three ~decade long relationships and ended up gutted emotionally every time. After I quit that, I was much happier. But I do envy friends who made it work. Having a girlfriend, then wife from 16 to 26 was probably awesome and changed me since I never did the club hunting thing. But it was stupid to marry before I was on good financial footing. And once you marry/get a girlfriend, you can't do what you have to do to get set financially.
If I was religious, it would have been a lot easier. Religious girls *will* drop you after you and they are in in love-- because a) god comes first and b) "they are going to be in heaven alone for eternity while you are in hell and it makes them sad."
Worldwide (citation needed but exists), women leave men at a higher rate when the last born child reaches 5 years old. Regardless of culture, religion, or other factors. The theory was that genetically that is when the child can gather it's own food and walk around and there is something genetic about it. And that it is better to have children by multiple mates in order to maximize the odds your genes survive (for both sexes- but they use different strategies to achieve the goal-- I've read up to 10% of children's dna do not match their fathers in many areas, so that's another strategy- happened to at least one friend of mine).
The only problem is the damn legal system currently punishes men way out of proportion. I've even heard of men required to pay child support for children that were not theirs (they'd paid for a couple years and THEN found out the ex had been lying-- so do a quick paternity test when your wife asks for a divorce and save yourself some grief).
We all want to love and be loved in return-- and really, almost completely separate from that we want red hot noogie. In fact, the argument over who should take out the garbage gets in the way which is why some of the most incredible sex is with people you only see to get it on with. But (in my experience), you still have to know them well- the anonymous stuff never worked for me. Too cold.
In my lifetime. in about this order... $500 for a 5mb drive. $200 for a 20mb drive. $88 for an 88mb drive. $300 for a 300mb drive. $400 for a 20gb drive. $300 for a 37.6gb drive. $700+ for an 80gb "10,000" rpm scsi drive. $300 for a 300gb drive.
So you say you have a drive that will be much faster and cost only $380?
Heck, get a $380 for your main drive, put your OS and install your applications on it. Use it while editing pictures and music.
Then add twin 1TB raided drives as your 1TB data drive (fast read, slow write, safer data storage). Or poor man raid it by doing a manual copy from one to the other nightly as you go to bed. Store your stable data here.
You have the illusion of blinding speed and enormous storage.
Yup. I didn't like 2nd edition. Cyclopedia (in the red basic, blue expert, teal? companion, black master, and gold immortal sets). I was still using 3 book set plus PHB during that period but when the hard bound Cyclopedia came out, I switched over.
To me, Basic DnD is about playing the game and the story. AD&D always seemed very fiddly with tables for everything, a rule's lawyer's heaven. I tend to be more like "Player wants to jump off the cliff on to a monsters back" "Okay- that's dex and challenging so make a dex check -6" "Player rolls- done". I think AD&D finally headed that way after going down the path of "Chart a: Jumping, Subchart a3: Jumping onto monsters, Subchart a3.7: Jumping on to Monsters, Dragons".
The weapon mastery was grossly imbalanced. After a few players in my game took out two purple worms in one melee round with only melee attacks, they agreed it was unbalanced even from a player's perspective.
There is a difference between an actor doing a good job delivering their lines and selling those lines to you. Good writers are required too of course.
It is amazing what a good actor can do with a single word.
To this day, William Shatner's reading of "Shields!" still sends a little chill down my spine. Ham may he have been- he could load a word with such conviction and emotion that you believed it down to your soul.
Yup. And it's the only way you can get Gods, Demigods, and Heroes where TSR violated a lot of OTHER people's copyrighted material.
I started with the three book set, greyhawk, and blackmoor after hearing about the "DND" room at a convention.
ADND (i.e. 1st edition) killed my campaign when the DMG came out. Can't remember why. The PHB and MM were both compatible.
2nd edition wasn't my cup of tea and i stumbled on the Cyclopedia version and fell in love.
Lots of home rules later, my 26 year old rules set and Rev 4.0 are actually a lot closer together. I guess we both grew in the same direction. My rules are formatted Cyclopedia style (and probably still have about 40- pages or 10%-15% of Cyclopedia material).
If I had it to do over again, I think I would simplify things and reduce a lot of these feats (like cleave) to the basics: Unless it is a special squirrelly ability (like flying) then it points down to taking more hit points or doing more hit points.
I think the clothing evidence was sufficient. Rare gloves and boots - his statements he never owned them - then pictures of him wearing them.
The blood samples from some locations had chemicals indicating they came from the police lab and were planted. Some overzealous policeman wanted to *make sure* O.J. was found guilty- and in doing so, helped O.J. get off.
But I get your grammar nit. Framing applies to someone innocent of the crime.
It has an ironic feel to it. Like a story about someone people thought was innocent being framed- but no one ever knew that secretly they really WERE guilty. So I guess the 90% of blacks and 25% of other folks who felt he was innocent at the time (and still about 35% blacks/unknown others% last I read) would say O.J. was framed (by the definition of the word).
I love how for rich, powerful people, losing their position "is punishment enough" while for ordinary people 2-5 years in prison "is punishment enough".
This also resonates with O.J. in that a good case against a criminal was ruined by a problematic law enforcement agent. I suspect those problems are found a lot more often by expensive attorneys with large staffs than they are by public defenders with no staff.
The logic works like this... a) You are putting caffeine in the environment (excretion). All that "second hand" caffeine in the water system surely poses a risk. b) You have higher health costs-- in some way- associated with caffeine so it must be taken away for your own good. c) It turns out the smell of coffee causes.000001% of people a problem. or d) global warming.
Major corp program in vb6. It works fine. It could stop working with any patch.
There was supposed to be a vb7 but instead we got.net. No easy way to move the application. Our Java and Mainframe programs have not had to be recoded for over a decade (Mainframe goes back about 18 years). Business has a hard time allocating resources to rewrite applications that are working every 5 years. These are significant apps- take about 6000 hours to redevelop and test.
Going forward, we are not going to use.net. Microsoft burned us so badly that the business finally gets it. The replacement apps will be written with an eye towards not having to rewrite them again.

My impression is that java is supported but you get performance benefits if you turn it off.
The java is roughly equivalent to "visual basic for applications".
Could be wrong. I was shooting for "+1 more correct" mod tho to get the "More Correct" achievement.
