what crock of crap... only a 4gb model for 249 and a new 15gb for 299... Why would I not spend 50 dollars more for 3 times the storage space?!?! So much for the rumors of a 2gb ipod in the 99-149 range.. Now that I would have probably bought as I don't listen to THAT much music. But come on apple.. 50 dollar difference between the 15gb and 4gb models? I know the mini's are smaller.. but NOT THAT MUCH!!
The garageband software looks like it would be fun to play around with... Kind of a shame there's no 20th aniversary mac like there was for the 10th aniversary(limited edition).
oh well.. theres always more SCO news till hold me over till Job's next special event:)
And pepsi giving away 100 million songs? Wow is that a penalty for having a MP3 server at the corporate offices that the RIAA found?:)
Some of us have the ability to do two things at once,
I really hate people who think this way. "I am above average and don't need to be treated like the rest of you." Just like people who still drink and drive.
I've never heard of two drunks hitting each other in a car accident... maybe sober people should stay off the road at 3am.
they're junk... i hate playing fighting games with them and most other games..
I own all 3 consoles... i haven't fired up my xbox in months...

The IETF has just announced discovery of the 31337th element named Slashdotium. This new element has perplexed engineers for many years now as it seems to simply appear out of nowhere and bring poor websites to their very knee's then dissapearing just as fast. Even stranger is the occasional apparent repeats that happen once in a while. Engineers theorize that the Slashdotium element hits some web sites twice at a rate of about 1 in 9. They are still trying to find out what is causing the repeated appearence of Slashdotium to the same site twice and one radical engineer believes its related to the element dumbasseditorium.
It is, however, nice to know that IBM's fire-breathing legion of IP lawyers is on the side of the GPL."
yesh because with all the work IBM has done with linux in the past short years they obviously have no vested interest in making money off the GPL or linux(or GNU/LINUX or SCO/GNU/LINUX, whatever you want to call it).
this trial should prove to be interesting as long as it doesn't drag out for 5 years
For example, phone companies are supposed to track where phone calls originate (for 911 dispatchers, for example). That's not going to be possible with VoIP.
you sir are wrong.. In fact Vonage offers a 911 service when you sign up these days.
This will probably happen in more states as well they are offering home service. Eventually long-haul carriers like ITXC & IBAS will have to face these problems as well.
That information is only about 5 years out of date. Just about every LD carrier is using carrier-class VoIP solutions now. Unless you're calling intra-lata, from POTS line to POTS line, your callis probably going IP somewhere.
This is actually incorrect. Please stop reading the latest TECH/Industry magazines.
In Fact only 10% of GLOBAL Telephony minutes are now VOIP and only the long haul stage at that.
99% of calls originated in the U.S. to other U.S. based destinations still go over traditional TDM networks.
As for "carrier-class" there are very few solutions that even approach 5 9's of reliability as in TDM networks. The only current way to achieve this is to use private lines for the long haul IP transit and this takes away the advantage of using the public internet.
Cheap bastards could'nt give him a decent console like a PS2 or GC... now the poor canadian guy is stuck on Halo all day!!!!

patiently waiting here for more SCO goodies..
The part that I found most interesting was that Sony will also be named in the lawsuit because GTA was exclusive to their console.
Does that mean Microsoft can be added to the lawsuit in 2004? They have tons of cash and would be a great target to add to this frivilous suit.

"the results augur well for Apple G5 performance in technical and scientific computing environments and for playing games."
:)
Right.. because of these tests every pc game developer is now going to make a port to MAC OS of all the games they are developing..
