Why download hundreds of mp3s when I can listen to the same music streaming from the internet?
Because my employer blocks streaming audio feeds like this. Something about lots of employees doing this during the day and chewing up the company's bandwidth that should be for customers (or for/.ing ).
And whatever you do, don't cross the streams. That would be bad. Try to imagine all life as you know it stopping instantaneously and every molecule in your body exploding at the speed of light.
Right. That's bad. Okay. All right. Important safety tip.
Why would you pay $4000 for a cat like that when you can get the same thing right now by getting a Siberian Cat? Nearly 3 years ago we purchased a Siberian from a breeder for $600. Being deathly allergic to cats I were concerned about reaction but the cat regularly sleeps right up on the pillow next to my head, so it's almost as if there was no allergy.
Through Microsoft's Fresh Start program for schools, all donated PCs can get a NEW copy of Windows. For FREE (as in beer). All you have to do is prove they were donations (which I expect they were and you can) and you can get a new copy of the OS for each machine.
I imagine that Dell's support costs for helping people remove spyware are ASTRONOMICAL
I've worked with two separate people recently with Dell issues that were OS related (one spyware, one BSOD), and both times they were referred to 'pay per incident' support which I assumed it meant they were pushing the support off on M$. It may be these two did not purchase the correct 'support' but they were going to be charged and arm and a leg for something that took me 15 minutes and I got paid in beer.
I'd be interested in seeing if they offered a 'bumper to bumper' warranty type thing.
This drama is also about incompetence. Sony's latest rootkit-removal tool actually leaves a gaping vulnerability. And Sony's rootkit -- designed to stop copyright infringement -- itself may have infringed on copyright. As amazing as it might seem, the code seems to include an open-source MP3 encoder in violation of that library's license agreement.
GoDaddy does let you use DNS without hosting there. I do it for a few of my sites.
Like another/.er said, it's a little harder to manage but you *can* do it.
I just wish they would allow dynamic DNS updates.
But that's just it - everyone is not railing on them because they are star wars fans. They are being railed on because they are standing in line for the sake of standing in line - to gain some notice for their 'cause'...
"The telling thing is -- for me, at least -- if the film is not playing at the Chinese... I have zero desire to see it at all," a fan who calls himself Obi Geewhyen posted on the message board at Liningup.net. "I'm in it for the lineup only and don't give a darn about the conclusion of this lackluster, so-called 'Star Wars' series."
That is why they are losers, IMHO. Standing in line to see a movie they don't want to see, with a name like Obi Geewhyen and even better - being at the wrong theater.
Visa debit cards are covered under their 'zero liability fraud' policy. They've been advertising it pretty heavy lately with that lady in the parking lot that has all the super heros come to her rescue. lame.

So how in the word do you explain how Jimmy Hoffa ended up in Egpyt?

The wikipedia entry lists a few but a quick Google will find lots more.

I'm sorry, if an Admin is playing CDs on his Windows 2003 Server, he deserves to have his system hacked.
Bah, it's not just Windows. Mac OS X version 10.3.9 (Panther) and Mac OS X Server version 10.3.9 have holes too:

Of course, there are many many more Windows machines that can be infected, and maybe those OSX machines can't be used this way, but...
Hey, that's not a UFO - that's the overshot of that Tinfoil Hat house! Maybe there's something to putting tinfoil all over...
