BASIC is like any Sunday School. It give you a base to start out with. Might not be on the ball with the full tenets of a religion, simplified for a new audience, but it points in the direction for deeper philosophical research.
The WSJ is simply reporting the story.

But my refrigerator, it needs, nay, craves an IP address, so it automatically orders my eggs and ravioli and orange creme soda, and orangutans, and breakfast cereals.....
It's unfortunate that even in politics, some group will try to say that if someone is highly educated, they are labeled as "elitist, cause they ain't like us folk."
So many job descriptions are written by HR reps who only list off names of various software packages, and only go by a checklist when reviewing candidates.
If someone asks me "Do you know TechnoBuzz software?" my factual answer would be "I haven't used it before, but I'd love to/willing to/confident I can learn it."
What's a better answer to give an HR rep who doesn't know the technology?
Can someone please explain the technical reasons why so many space photos are "false color" based on X-Ray or infrared spectrum, even from modern spacecraft? Is there no color spectrum in outer space?

That argument failed AT&T, and it is what allowed 3rd party hardware (phones, modems, faxes) to use the telephone system, as long as it did not cause harm/damage/interference with the network.
I remember when Scott Richter was interviewed on the Daily Show, he said so many people craved the unsolicited email he sent. He said people would email asking him "Where are my offers?"
I have a friend who was the manager of one of those bulk candy stores in the mall. A couple of times, students had come in and asked to take pictures or video of the store for their projects.
He said no, but at least the company line was a bit more logical: copyright issues...there were brand names and logos and such of their products all over the store.
If a mall Rent-A-Cop ever gives you trouble, and says you can't take photos, ask for the policy in writing. Ask why it's not posted at all entrances.
The problem with "Tough Crowd" was not the subject matter, or whether or not is was funny. The problem was it was an organizational clusterf***. Colin Quinn couldn't moderate at all, guests talked over each other, and little was said during each segment.
The reviews were temporarily pulled because it was part of the agreement that they wouldn't be published until the release date of the movie. According to the aintitcool.com retraction:
When I went to see THE CLONE WARS in Los Angeles, I was told there was an embargo on reviews until the day of release....The review is off the site until Friday.

I can't believe nobody's made a "Spiders From Mars" reference.
This will certainly defeat the practice of obfuscating links with e-mail addresses in them, by using a picture link or "click here."
If the search engine can read source code, it can certainly parse out an email address.
