  1. "General consensus seems to be that that paper is bunk and shouldn't have been published."

Those of us that actually tested it for shits and giggles (most jewelers that do metal work happen to have things for plating various materials) found it to be rather correct. Need to tweak plated layer thickness, otherwise you don't get shit for voltage, but it works.

You can take your 'general consensus' and tell them to fuck off unless they've actually constructed their own in-house prototypes.

They do have an issue with their scheduler even with HT disabled when it comes to multiple physical cores (because your scheduler is still handling multiple threads across physical cores, not just logical cores.)

Windows is totally owned. Disable HT in BIOS and it is still vulnerable due to having more than one physical core.

Wrong again, and I have tons of actual fucking civil court experience to back it up.

"Whether or not they have standing is directly dependent on whether or not they have a monopoly."

No, whether or not they have standing is based upon a preponderance of the evidence. Even if the court finds evidence for standing, this gets remanded back to the lower court for a ruling update.

And even if they are found to not have standing for the reasons they stated, they still have an opportunity to demonstrate other anti-competitive things.

BECAUSE THIS TRIAL WAS NOT ABOUT BEING A MONOPOLY (as Apple is not a monopoly by most any legal definition) I T WAS ABOUT BEING ANTI-COMPETITIVE.

You don't need to be a monopoly to be accused of being anti-competitive.

Disabling hyperthreading does EXACTLY JACK SHIT. The same flaw applied to multiple logical cores very easily applies to multiple physical cores and multi-socket systems.

Every intel CPU appears to still be vulnerable as shit. Tested on my i3-7320 system and my multi-socket E5-2650 system under Windows. If OpenBSD wants to be 'secure' they need to only allow one logical core, period, and ignore all the rest. That's the only way to mitigate this problem.

The OpenBSD devs just showed a huge lack of logical thinking and knowledge of hardware configurations.

No, they are not by any means. They are ruling on basic procedure first, that is determining standing. AFTERWARDS, this will get sent back to lower courts, and trial for the monopoly claim will begin (or in this case, resume,) and THEN a ruling will be issued either for or against Apple.

But you feel free to defend someone who is literally spying on you when there's no fucking reason to. A written report during playthrough testing - like done in almost any other fucking game development studio - would work just fine.

Oh, and then knowing how small dev shops tend to operate, I doubt that code would get properly excised, and it would find itself in the commercial version of the game, still fucking active and spying on people.

I kicked EA's ass in court over very similar shit. I've done this court fight. Meanwhile, you sit around, ignorant as shit to reality. Typical 7-digit UID holder.

  15. " I'm currently writing my own system that measures this data in pre-release versions of the game"

That does nothing to assuage me that there is no lying by omission happening. The second anyone puts any telemetry into anything, history shows something else is going on behind the scenes.

  16. "How is QA going to tell you that most players are ignoring the Engineer class because it's not as fun to play as the Soldier class?"

Ever work in QA? Here, let me show you how it works; It's called a written report. You play the game, then you write down your fucking issues and submit them.

What world requires spy software to do that?

That leaves open a whole fucking goddamned slew of counter-points. See, I have essentially unlimited bandwidth, because the only thing on this planet capable of giving me a personalized, individualized music experience, is my MP3 play/phone.
