Soon you won't be able to buy anything! Bla ha ha ha ha There is no escape!
On the street - an ad. In the car - an ad. In the bathroom - an ad. In your own bathroom with your new fancy japanese toilet - an ad that sings to you.
It could be done. You'd have to find one really smart dude to pull it off. Even then, they'd give it away? Not impossible, things like that happen. Very unlikely though.
Even then the big guys would be very quick to shoot it down. Make up lies. Their bottom line depends on it after all.
Then you should know. Did you buy the machines? Well Never mind I suppose. I always have been known to get a great deal. I always thought they were competitively priced for what was out there at the time. It's a DEC, just like HP, IBM, they put good parts in them. I never did have one go bad.
The Itanium had a lot of the Alpha technology in it believe it or not. DEC was bought by Compaq that was bought by HP and HP teamed up with Intel on the Itanium. I met a lot of those guys that did the work in NY State someplace. I'm friends with a super HP fan. He and I still have a HP3000/III nameplate. I was thinking this new processor will be it. HP Superdome.... to replace the PA chips... Should Rock. It'll get adopted into data centers.... Didn't. Face plant into the pavement.
Sooner or later we'll get away from the X86.... I keep thinking that. Maybe before I retire? I used to wonder why the MC88000 didn't take off and rule the world.
Sounds to me that you're not that familiar with the Alpha. Here is the DEC Alpha Multia - http://www.computinghistory.or... . They would run Windows NT, also Linux which is what I used them for. That's a desktop, made to be a desktop and used as a desktop. It even had the sound card. It was a really nice neat little box.
I used to buy these. I had no trouble buying them for less than the slower intel desktops at the time. The Intel boxes were not just a bit slower, they were clearly a lot slower. Annoyingly a lot slower.
I have a lot of experience with the alpha, from the Multia up to big mainframes. That multia even when you could buy them as surplus machines would still beat the current Intel boxes. We did extensive testing on it. It wasn't until around 2000 that Intel finally caught up enough that I was willing to part with the multia. When processors were moving towards the 1ghz range. The frames we kept around until 2013. Not that they were faster, they weren't for years, however moving off was tough.
It's a monopoly. Intel found this out as well when they tried to move to the Itanium. It's a better chip with a better future. However managers wouldn't buy it because it wasn't the X86. Even though Windows would run on it. Same thing with the digital equipment corp Alpha processors. Way better, however penetrating the market was nearly impossible. I'd bring it up and managers wouldn't even consider it.
Sort of like Standard Oil 100+ years ago. If you bought anything other than standard oil your house could burn down. A lot of people thought that because it happened. Many people wouldn't even think about buying anyone else's kerosene.
Keep crying? It took you 3 days to even respond. Either you were crying from slapping yourself silly or you were sucking your mom's cock before she pegs you again.
Anytime you think of introducing a new tax, slap yourself hard. Seriously. We don't want that monkey on our back. Too many taxes already.
We need to ban the plastic packaging that we see out there. Go back to before when we had plastic bubbles. They used to print what it was on the package. Some things that are for the most part useless like water bottles could be eliminated entirely. Some people drink only bottled water because they think tap water is poison. Even though that's clearly wrong.
I think you're onto something. We really should ban a lot more plastic. We have way too much floating in the oceans. Even in very small sizes, like less than the size of a grain of sand. It's getting into sea salt as well.
Used to be the C++ compiler was simply a pre processor to C. Therefore you clearly could go to C, going to C++ was a lot more problematic.
Side note, I found I could take my C code and end up with 1/3 the lines in Perl. It ran in every case but one without a difference in speed while the perl code was way more readable and maintainable. I still run some code in perl that was moved over from C in 1995.
Take flight lessons. Own your own plane. They're only around $40K for a good entry level bird. I did that in 2005 and I still love it.
Maintenance can be a bummer. One year I spent around 12K. Most years it's more like 2K and that's for a 1950s era Beech aircraft V-Tail. I plan on 140 Kts and I get it most of the time. On a good day it'll do 150 Kts or 170 MPH.
You're kidding, right? Send in a bunch of heavily armed cops expecting to confront a guy that is armed and has already killed someone. What could go wrong?
Do yourself a big favor. Slap yourself about a dozen times real hard. If you still think nothing would happen, repeat until you do.
Did you know about the 21 foot rule? http://lawofficer.com/exclusiv... There have been cases where a cop drove his car up, got out and because the suspect is now within that 21 feet, was shot. The cop created the condition in the first place.
It's bad training at work here, or maybe even no training. I have a feeling this has a lot to do with hollywood and their spectacular cop shows. Mostly BS as well. It's a show after all. Yet cops see that. Probably put it into practice.
Who would ever want to be a cop then? Mistakes happen. Sometimes they shoot another cop.
This case, it appears he just shot the man without warning. They need to stop shooting for body mass, take out a leg or shoulder like they used to do. That man would still be alive today and would recover in about a month. So many other options.
That's the unfortunate result of the left importing terrorists. That "cop" was from Africa, muslim and thinks women are dirt. Well you read the wiki article.. you know. That's why she was shot, she was complaining about a man's behavior. He thought she should STFU and mind her own business.
Apparently protecting muslims is more important than a woman's rights. More important than holding police accountable. Seems their ass kissing muslims. IMHO he should be prosecuted and executed for what he did. A woman in pajamas, WTF. Hang 'em. Hang 'em high!
Whoever made the call, as well as the officers who couldn't be bothered to Not shoot someone.
With their record, does anyone actually Call the police anymore for real calls anymore?
Seems like when people call for service, they're calling to be murdered...
Sure. My wife did it recently when she noticed a man out of place looking around enter our community. Sure, he was black, what's your point? He was dropped of by a white pickup. He clearly was casing. So she called the cops and they rounded him and his friend up. They had quite a haul in the back of the pickup, then the burglary calls started coming in as people returned home.
I called them on some kids shooting out $800 street lamps with an air rifle. I did a citizen arrest, called the state police. They admitted to shooting them all out, I think it came to around $5,000.
Someone I know ran a set of keys down the side of a car. She had a spat with the woman in the Beauty salon. The woman called the cops, they busted the girl doing the destruction. She spent 3 days in jail over that one. Serves her right, eh?
Depends on where you are. In this case it sounds like the swat cops really aren't prepared. I know, that's an understatement.
I have to wonder what you're doing. If what you are saying is true you probably need to re-think how you present yourself. You're projecting a threatening demeanor, though you probably don't even know it. I used to do that until someone told me to knock it off. What I was doing, how people were perceiving it. Long time ago.
Could also be the MS13 tatoo on your face? That would do it.
They passed a law that the US had to go metric in the 1970s. Didn't happen. Everything would have to change. Every socket, every scale, every everything that has a measure. Recipes.. it's a mess. How much is a cup of sugar in metric? Is that a dry or wet measure? and on and on...
I can see it happening in my lifetime though. Today if you buy a Chevy, most of the nuts and bolts are metric. I'd be surprised if you could find a standard bolt on the whole car. Hardware stores have plenty of metric stuff today. However I have to admit, SAE is still king.
Metric is nothing more than a string with knots tied in it anyhow. A meter was supposed to be from the North Pole to the equator div 1 million or something and now we know that isn't even right. So it's just someone else's unit. Worse, it's a French unit. We should just give up on it. Stay standard.
Sometimes you can have fun with them. For example the stupid people that think the the plane couldn't take down the WTC. Just mention they probably had the chem trail mixture on board and who knows what that stuff burns at. Then they're in trouble. Do they believe the chem trail BS or that a plane couldn't take down the WTC BS.

No, just stupid people if they allowed that to happen.
It could be done. You'd have to find one really smart dude to pull it off. Even then, they'd give it away? Not impossible, things like that happen. Very unlikely though.
Even then the big guys would be very quick to shoot it down. Make up lies. Their bottom line depends on it after all.
And my understanding is they're probably fired by now. Oracle fired around 80% of the SUN people.
Then you should know. Did you buy the machines? Well Never mind I suppose. I always have been known to get a great deal. I always thought they were competitively priced for what was out there at the time. It's a DEC, just like HP, IBM, they put good parts in them. I never did have one go bad.

Google is showing a frame with nothing being translated.
Look in the mirror

Yes. Back to the way we used to package before WWII. Let's do it.
Anytime you think of introducing a new tax, slap yourself hard. Seriously. We don't want that monkey on our back. Too many taxes already.

Really. Go sit in the corner for 2 hours.
If you haven't learned your lesson, slap yourself 5 times and sit in the corner for another 2 hours. Repeat until you admit your error.
Used to be the C++ compiler was simply a pre processor to C. Therefore you clearly could go to C, going to C++ was a lot more problematic.

They fixed it many years ago. I have a feeling he doesn't know what he's talking about. I know, hard to believe on /.
Take flight lessons. Own your own plane. They're only around $40K for a good entry level bird. I did that in 2005 and I still love it.

A pilots license. Your license to learn.
