I agree. MediaPortal is highly unstable. It does have some nice features but once you start up a video of any sort it will eat up RAM fast. I just wish though MCE would support OGM/MKV files and allow you to change audio/subtitle tracks. (Media Player Classic and WinLirc for now though...) By the way does MythTV support this? Just curious (can't change to it anyway)
Us poor folks in the US who invented the internet and all the goodies couldn't get 10 mbit up/down for $47 a month.. hell we be lucky to get 3 mbits for the same price... I have Charter 3 mbit/256 kbit cable, and the only reason its even $47 a month (internet alone) is because we got a deal that also included digital cable (more money for them..) Don't ask the standalone price as they keep changing (aka more) the damn price >_<
Then again this is the same place who convince people to rent ring tones for $10 a month...
You got to admit, the guy over at toastytech managed to get Windows 1.0 programs to run on XP just by changing a few bits in the header. All that was preventing the app from running was a version check..
It has levels of Screen of Death:
RedSOD for really bad
BlueSOD for bad things
GreenSOD for just plain crashing:-)
(Okay, the green might not be real, but I'm not kidding for the first two)
Apple was so enamored with absolute pure, minimalist design that some designers may argue that ergonomics were compromised.
Its not so much ergonomics as that Apple has patented the design of the iPod. Good luck trying to make anything similar..
I know what you get!
My parents had AOL for the longest time, in fact it was our first ISP for windows. But after being a long time member they forced us to quit!
It was said that we (well under our screen names) sent out hundreds of spam emails a month. Though keep in mind the following: this was way before the spyware plagues starting with blaster and the like! Not worthstanding being on 56k modem sure made that less than probable.
That is true, even ads about web sites are always shown using an Apple interface. I've even seen pictures on BestBuy.com showing an Apple interface on what is obviously an HP laptop.

:)
Though honestly I remembered them all... honest
Doesn't work on Firefox 1.0.7 on Windows.. doesn't work on Opera 8.5 either

that might of been "allowed" in the past but now EULAs are so bad that you don't even technically "owned" your purcashed product
Oh boy, your new here aren't ya? You don't make fun of Apple users on slashdot--they'll disown you.
In Soviet Russia the Americans don't care... (bad pun I know..)

Microsoft is comming out with a new CLI, its called MSH (Monad). If you look on MSDN on their .NET show it shows some cool examples of it in action. (e.g. Pipe .NET objects)
http://msdn.microsoft.com/theshow/episode.aspx?xml =theshow/en/Episode043/manifest.xml
please make it stop....
At least they're getting somewhere, even if its a bit out of the way
its not called 'free' its called 'bittorrent'
mod parent up
Just a question, what were the specs of your machine to run that?
