considering all the electronics the get exported from china, TV. stereos, computers, etc...
now also consider cable TV and phone lines are network aware, and soon BPL will make power lines network aware too...
what if china makes modified televisions and telephones capable of spying on people sending all the juicy data straight back to china via the internet...
china could spy on the usa without even leaving china
since the human race is subject to the same laws of evolution i think this gene should be added to the human race so when global warming really starts to warm things up those humans that can use and evolve with this gene will survive...
from personal experience i have to say i am biased towards GNU/Linux with Slackware being my favorite, i recently tryed both DesktopBSD & PC-BSD on my first primary partition, they were both decent KDE desktops and i was familier with CUPS so setting up my printer was not a problem, but with GNU/Linux when i tried ubuntu breezy it made setting up a GNU/Linux desktop a total "no brainer" (including printer, scanner & digital camera) that should help non-techies setup a GNU/Linux desktop a lot easier, the two BSD desktop flavors (DesktopBSD & PC-BSD) stand a good chance to give the GNU/Linux desktop camp some competition which is a good thing:)
i keep slackware-10.2 with the stock kernel-2.4.31 as my main os and keep an extra partition for playing and testing out other Linux distros, and the slackware is more smoother and stable than any of the disktros i tried with 2.6.xx series kernels...
i am sure the kernel dev people (Linus & co.) will iron any wrinkles out of the 2.6.xx series kernels soon:)
_i for one welcome our kernel hacking overlords...
after a few bad experiences with windows i know a family who was glad i wiped windows off and slapped on ubuntu on their computer, i told them to call me if they have any problems, so far no problems...
i was determined to rid my PCs of Windows, i only rarely asked for help, what i leared to do is simple detective work and a little RTFM helped too. by too much hand-holding the new user is just bringing the same bad habits to the Linux world of being dependant on others to solve thier problems, when just a little logic and detective work and some reading will do it all...
if my ISP makes it impossible for me to download Linux ISOs when i need em i will complain to them, and if i get negative results i will cancel my subscription with them

i keep my ideas and inventions to myself, let the world do without them...
only fools and idiots would spend that amount of money to watch a performance by anyone (especially madonna)
when GNU/Linux had a vulnerbility it was counted for each distro that had the vulnerable piece of software.
i have never met a benevolent 800 pound gorilla, i doubt they exist.
not a chance, no thanks

i want to see some sub 500 dollar USD laptops with GNU/Linux preinstalled, with wireless working without ndiswrapper having to be used...
what a gentle euphemism...
