Not near. In. IN the city. I live "Near" New York but I might as well be on another planet. Granted I'm not sure I'd be up to maintaining a commuting relationship into New York, but I'll never know because New Yorkers won't give you the time of day if you're more than two transfers away. Heck, some say in their profiles don't bother if you live in the Bronx or Staten Island.
It's inconvenient for both parties, I get that, but I assume it's also a matter of statistics and probability: There are a lot of people in New York, and statistically, there's probably at least 2.35 people more or less like me in New York (I'm guessing in Park Slope and the UES), so why bother with the version of me that lives 45 minutes away? You've got 2.35 reasonable facimiies not more than two subway transfers away! Besides if you were that cool, you'd live in the city, not near it, obviously.
Homer: (Wearing an FBI listening device.) Hey, see you're watching the ball game. Looks like a good one. Any of you involved in any illegal activity? Cause I could sure go for some. How bout you, Lenny? Testing, testing. Lenny? Lenny: You saying you want to commit a crime, Homer? Homer: Maybe. But first I need to hear about some other crimes to get me fired up.
Well sure, when it comes to keeping people out of the country, only the best will do, even if that means a grudging nod to 'reason' or 'science' when convenient.
Does anybody know if Ireland owes its greenness to moderate temperatures and moist air? I'm no climatologist but does it perhaps come from the Atlantic Ocean, particularly the warm currents in the North Atlantic Drift, which gives the country a more temperate climate than most others at the same latitude?
So don't let them all play rogues. What's the big deal?
"Ok, what do you do?" "I backstab" "Backstab" "Um...Backstab?" "I shank him" "You're not supposed to say it like that! We'll get in trouble" "Fine, jeeze...'backstab'"
Just so we're clear, this isn't an actual, physical solar shield?
Yawn. Ok, maybe it'll help, but just saying, if you're going to give something a name like "Solar Shield", don't expect people to be underwhelmed. Even IF there are satellites involved.
Come to think of it, if there WAS a huge circular ultra-thin metallic doodad protecting us from certain doom, somebody would want to advertise on it. "Rays of death and inconvenience shooting at our planet from a star averted by Sprite, who remind you to always Obey Your Thirst(tm)"
Use a paper notebook for a lot of things. It's redundant and inefficient but sometimes I'll high-level outline something in the notebook, then retype it into OpenOffice to add detail. Just how I worked, but also this was mostly before I had a netbook to tote around.
Actually had a couple programs on my Handspring Visor, of all things, that I kind of wish they had desktop version of so I could pull the databases in (Progect, Knowledge), if only for nostalgic purposes at this point, since that stuff is years old by now. They're pretty basic, for the most part: Progect is just an outliner with cool features, especially for planning and project management, and Knowledge is just a list maker with cool features and categorizing/tagging ability, and I've never found anything like that for the desktop.
Wow, Comcast gives you two free boxes? I'll jump ship there! Cablevision/Optimum gives you zero free boxes, but they're requiring them in a few days. Also, the boxes are $5 instead of $2. Bargain!! They started taking away channels a year ago unless you got a box. Guess enough people didn't pay the ransom.
This is nice and all, but is TPB still good for anything? It's not being watched by every media conglomerate and their 'private eyes' in the world? Even before I quit downloading quite some time ago, and even then had the sense that TPB wasn't 'safe' to use if you were doing something you should be concerned about. Is there enough legit content on TPB to make it relevant in todays litigious online climate? If I wanted something that badly today, I wouldn't even know where to look that's considered 'safe' (ish?), but I KNOW TPB wouldn't be my first stop...........or is that what They WANT you to think?
Oh yeah? Well...I declare an Acer Bubble!

No, not bitter, why do you ask?
Oh...what, real ones?
"Two Guys From Quantico Pizza"
"Plumber"

So how are those voting machines lately?

T.I.A.
Which coffee shop were they in?
Yeah, I always wondered who Mr. Proper was to have had such an impact on the kernel build process.
3:54, about to fall down a hole and does Mario Galaxy-style parkour to get out of it. You could do that in original Super Mario Brothers?

You could have bought Airwolf on eBay Platinum Reserve.
Basically, but that was to block out the sun in a bad way. This is to block out the sun in a good way. Mr. Burns needs the P.R. people NASA has.

Lately I've been really liking Freemind ( http://freemind.sourceforge.net/ ) for planning and brainstorming ideas.
Yeah, I've seen more credible technical journalism on the blog the guy at the yarn museum does.
Told you I'd use it.
Interesting post, but the real take home here is "yarn museum", which I will be using as an example of pretty much everything from now on. Thanks!

Why do we do this to ourselves?
Do they have Ogg Theora? I ask because I have some videos I transcoded a year or two ago and....
Please stop pretending you are scared of us, please, now.

When you read the article, you have to say 'sheeropitist' and not 'chiropractor'.
I think. I seem to remember it from a cartoon.
