...until I read that it has nothing to do with the new series. What the hell? This makes no sense to me - having two different re-imaginings of the same series going on?? What???
I just finished my Bachelor of Computer Science a couple of years ago and never used a laptop until I entered the workforce. I simply did not need one, and neither did 99% of my classmates. Having thousands of desktop machines on campus, and of course one at home was plenty.
The very few students who did use laptops in class over the course of my degree (I think I can remember two instances) were just a distraction for the rest of us. And I can't imagine having spider solitaire right there, begging to be played in a boring lecture... you'd never get anything out of the class at all.
The first movie was fantastic, the second one was poor, and the third looks like it's going to at least be as bad as #2.
The "kung fu" scenes are getting really old, and the biblical story that is coming out is too much to take. I'm going to take a pass when revolutions comes out. I'd encourage others to do the same. These big budget marketing campaigns won't make me go spend $10 on something I know isn't worth watching.
The game is rated 18+ for a reason. Those kids should never have had access to it, nor should kids be able to have unsupervised access to a loaded rifle. What the heck is going on in Tennesse?
I'm don't believe that video games CAUSE people to commit crimes like this, but these are obviously two screwed up kids in the first place. So when you let them play this type of game and give them a loaded gun to play with when they're "bored", you are playing with fire.
Did anybody actually read the story? I don't know where the poster got that story title, but Japan was #10 on the list, barely above the US. South Korean, Hong Kong and Canada were the top 3 in the study.
It wouldn't be worth the money. Government should be paying for universal health care and fighting poverty, not wasting it on regulating computer repair techs.
And really you should be spending your money more wisely if you get ripped off on computer repair. Your computer cost you what? A thousand bucks? Today you are lucky if it is worth half of that a month or two from date of purchase.
If poorly repaired, it may annoy you but is not a safety hazard to your neighbours (unless of course you toss out your 8th floor window in frustration).
If you are spending more than 50-100 bucks to repair it, you should probably just be replacing it instead, and selling the used parts on eBay.
As I read your post about your digital cable or satellite TV packages, I was reminded of all the 'age verification' services out there which will give you access to hundreds of pr0n sites.
And once again, the only industry on the internet that continues to make money is the pr0n industry. Maybe the rest of the internet could learn from their business model??
I guess I would have to put myself in the category of intermediate/advanced Java coder. And I've often thought that I could contribute to some free software project, but where? I guess from my perspective, it would be easier to start my own project than to try to decipher someone elses and start contributing to it.
And with only a couple hours a week maximum to spend on it, how much help would I be?
This is definately good news - we've all had our problems with internet service providers and their (un)reliability, bandwidth problems, etc . . . I welcome the move by the CRTC to come in and straighten them out.
BTW - I don't think any Yankess really should have their opinion count here. They don't know how good we've got it in Canada with our "high taxes" and "big government".
Something about: "The best country in the world in which to live" . . .
I haven't been able to try it on Linux yet because of lack of space on that partition at the moment.
But in windoze (I'm running a K6-2 366/w 64MB RAM and a Voodoo 2), it was really smooth.
It's not the graphics that I'm looking for to really be the best part of this game though. It's the AI, physics and persistant universe that have got most of us excited about it. I still can't wait to get my autographed copy:)
Sure sounds like it's something M$ *could* have done . . . I doubt they are *that* scared yet, but on the other hand, I wouldn't be suprised if a leaked memo came out in a few months implicating them:)

Unfortunately, this would be my thought as well. Still it's nice to hear news of a notorious spammer getting what he deserves.
And buy our spoiled kids laptops?!? What?!?

Yes
Yes, Canada produces more oil than it consumes, but because of several agreements made with the US, we must export it to them.
"Here's a guy who changes his clothes in a phone booth and flies through the air," says Mr. Cooper. "Does that mean he's now an animal?"
Wasn't superman supposedly an alien? That would pretty much rule him out as being human, one would think.

Obviously it must be a UFO.

Turned 22 last week - feeling old already.
My two cents: us young guys/gals in here now, are like the "baby boomers" of the IT world.
I think I'll have a job for another 25 years. Then who wants to work after that anyway - time to retire.
How many times do you boot up?
