"Some say that Mormonism, with its emphasis that all beings can progress toward higher planes of existence, before and after death, has a receptivity toward evolutionary thought that other religions might lack."
I'd guess that religions related to Hinduism would also have some evolutionary leanings, then.
If the documents are true, and the same for the speculation running wild here, when will charges be pressed against "Jones Day" and/or its representatives who were involved on the conspiracy to defraud the state of California?
(Or how I learned to stop worrying and love the... uhn.. tax)
I was quite unhappy about the tax when it was first implemented, but this tax prevents (or should) RIAA style tactics in Canada. Yeah, sure it's another tax, but CD blanks are not that expensive. (Cheap at twice the price, eh?)
It is unfortunate that Geist's site is unreachable. I'd've liked to have RTFA before posting, but hey, this is/.
Snowman: you've expressed exactly what I was thinking when I saw this. Do you do tarot readins as well?;-)
I have fond memories of both Dark Crystal and Bambi, but both are singular movies and complete in themselves. I don't see what another movie would bring to the world, other than a few bucks into producers' pockets.
On the other hand, after reading TFA, this movie seems to be a movie set in the same "universe" as Dark Crystal, but also distinct. It might actually have some merit.
That's one thing which puzzles me. Why would they restrict launch to a vertical, rocket-powered takeoff from earth? I can see that would be the nicest way to get back from the lunar surface, but there are other terrestrial options. (Like a launch-from-flight: boosting the space craft to altitude via some aircraft and letting it go from there.)
Now you know my name isn't something generic
Hopefully it's not as redundant as "Evil Lawyer". If that is your real name, you know that Google's not hiring you either.;-)
what type of tools should parents be equipping their children with? "Technology" is not a synonym for "computers".
Dang! I was going to say "weapons", but now I can't. Thanks for spoiling it, eh?;-)
I'd be interested in how you can do this in HTML.
Um, didn't you just do that in HTML? You need to talk to yourself more. (Yeah, yeah, I know, but it is funny on this side of the monitor.;-)
I'm looking for a Windows driver that will capture my GDI calls and render to HTML. Any suggestions?
You might want to look at libwmf - search for SVG inside the page. It's isn't exactly what you want, but if you can capture your GDI to a WMF, you're GTG. (Good to go.)
No-one has included a link to SVG related material. There you go.
While I don't agree with the entirety of the article cited, I do agree that there is a woeful lack of proper English use currently. My concern is over the use of what I call "Internet English" - the misuse of properly spelled words.
I am sure that all have read this poem on the subject, or complained of the misuse of homonyms (they're / there / their) or apostrophes (it's / its), but it goes further than that.
An example of a common misuse is "loose" for "lose", or "then" for "than".
My problem with it is that it slows my reading speed down and ofttimes, my comprehension as well. I have to reread and think "the what the hell do they mean there?" I'd prefer that people simply misspelled things to using the wrong "right" word.
This was documented some time ago, and even mentioned on slashdot.
(It's not a duplicate if people don't know about it.)
While the default setting of "use all memory available" might be a bit unfortunate, this is tuneable. (After all, you can't tuna fish, but you can tune a, well, browser.)

No points for "never".
Yay! More soylent green for everyone else.

It has worked for me in the past, but it does seem sloooow today. So maybe they're turning against me too '-)
They weren't really in the running, were they? It's a good thing we have women who can play hockey, eh?
Not really, but I thought people might like a link to the Carnegie Museum's press release, which in turn links to a set of pictures of the beast. (Nice big pictures, too.)

Take my love, take my land,
Take me where I cannot stand.
I don't care, I'm still free.
You can't take the sky from me.
Do you mean ... this one? Mwa ha ha ha ha
Creeped out yet? Now? .. How about now?
Now you know my name isn't something generic ;-)

Hey, information wants to be free. I mail things to the competition.
Now, I only use the computers of cow-orkers I dislike, but it's the thought that counts.

S'awright - I'm trying to forget there was a remake.
Disney is quite aggressive with copyrights - ask poor ol' Pooh Bear.
Yes, we should get terminology correct. I will not point out why the "ebola virus" would not be affected by antibiotics.
Sorry, don't know about FreeBSD. I would like to try Opera on OpenBSD.
Simply put, Opera is a better browser ;-)

Not an FF fan, but trying to be fair.
No, that's not it ... this is the right one.
[grin - look, it's all meant in fun]
Oh come on, F12-E fixes that. (This is the sequence to disable - or I guess enable - gif animation.)
