It was designed to kill soldiers of a technologically superior and well trained army who were invading the designer's country. Personally, I think he should get at least a little slack because of that.
Given our current level of technology, I'm always amazed when we discover large scale things like this. We have out cities mapped and photographed down to the meter, but we keep finding things like this.
I think they'll even lose their government contracts, as they know there's no honour among thieves. As for SSL and most of the rest of RSA's business, there are better open solutions. Not packaged as nicely, but available.
I really hope a lot of the company's executives have a crap-load of money tied up in RSA stock. I'm also hoping a lot of the NSA people are heavily invested in it as well.
You''ll probably also want to make sure that those people know where the borders are and that 'checkpoints' a couple of hundred miles inland are also not acceptable. As the GP said, WHAT THE FUCK has happened to the US.
There seem to be a large number of even remotely anti-Microsoft posts moderated down heavily these days. It's looking very much like they're (still) paying people to hang out on Slashdot and other forums to try to boost their image. It could just be rabid MS fanboys, but that really seems unlikely.
This is also how analog computers work. They're extremely fast and efficient, but imprecise. It had a bit of traction in the old days, but interest seems to have died off.
... don't forget degrading your performance. Can't have you happy with an older version of the OS that runs fast on your old device. Why would you buy a new one?
Humble Bundle is a great source of games where you can pay what you want. If you really can't afford very much, it's perfect for you. If you like supporting cross-platform games, charities like the EFF, and the developers that write the games, it's also perfect for you. They actually have a decent number of games for Linux as well for those who are interested.
You need to set it up so that the positive feedback of using the control and display stil;l happens, but the temeperature does not change. It keeps everybody happy that way.
They've been pretty decent with open protocols (although a little less recently), and they seem to have an interest in power saving as it helps keep their costs down for obvious reasons. Using their expertise to help lower peple power consumption while making money selling a product seems like a pretty decent idea. I think it'll likely ne network connected so you can control your therostat when away from the house for example, but I'm hoping it can be controlled without going through them as well. Not sure it will happen though, as they'll likely host a central control panel and some service that can be used on a variety of platforms without a lot of knowledge about setting up router firewalls, etc.
It would be nice to see software development treated like other skilled professions (engineering, medicine, etc) as long as the pay icreases with the responsibiity.
This is silly. Allit would do it force black markey prices up and push smaller companies out of business. It would probably also raise insurance rates for software companies and the cost of software in general. Of course, it would laso probably push up the rates for competent software developers.
The same shareholder based decision making applies. If the company loses value because of decisions of the CEO, the decision will be changed. Hopefully the CEO will be replaced for not predicting the effect on the brand as well.
Now that that's out of the way, how about a knighthood. I can't think of many that have deserved it more.

Well, I must admit that insulting mankind in general *is* probably a good start to getting modded "Troll".
We generally don't even need nature. We seem to do a fine job on our own.

Based on the fight that Verizon put up, I'm not sure I'd trust the numbers they provide.
I'm more thinking of non-US governments.

NSA has customers?
Not any more.
Gnome 3, yes, Gnome Shell and Unity, no. It's too bad too, as I actually didn't mind Gnome Shell that much.
... after that, perhaps they could even start treating their citizens better.

I'm actually quite surprised someone hasn't challenged that one yet.

Want to punish them? Don't buy their vehicles when they act like dicks.
I'm generally a fan of Google, but in this case they're way off base and should just admit they're wrong and pay the fine.
