Big corporations bribing government officials, i've seen this a million times, i'm brazilian...
Just recently it was Cisco in Brazil http://it.slashdot.org/article.pl?sid=07/10/16/2334253 and now MS in Nigeria. I've only seen people been arrested or fired, couldn't the corporation be fined or something? Apart from theirs reputation, the corporation itself in the end is clean to continue doing its dirty business...
Like the Wiki article on technobrega says, this "style of music" is localized to the north/northeast part of Brazil. Notoriously the poorest part of Brazil. I don't think most of the population there can spend money on retail CDs (about 20 reais) when you can find pirated copies for as little as 2 reais.
Technobrega could be translated to technotrash. I must say that brega is a pretty horrible style itself, i can't imagine what technobrega must sound like:/
afaik there's no built-in support for MP3 in the various mail programs (and if there is, that's at best a reason NOT to use a certain mail client). Mail client, i don't know... but gmail plays yours MP3 directly from the browser window.
Slashdot had been slashdoted in the past:p
What are the chances of that happening again?
When last we left off, Slashdot had grown beyond my ability to maintain it as a hobby, as well as beyond the simple DEC Alpha Multia 166 that had served it so well for the first week or two, and then immediately buckled under the traffic.
I'm thinking about free dialup ISP's we have here. You can use your email and password to use them. Are they going to make everyone fill in a form with their address, IDs (called CPF and carteira de identidade here), phone... how can they know if the data is true??
I think it is a stupid law since hackers and spammers won't be using their paid ISP to do their "business".
Thats why its called relativity, Einstein :p
Can someone make a Top10 of the Top10? I don`t want to go through all those pages :/
Yet they don't have 8GB sticks to make a 32GB system.
Forget everything we've done in Vista.
Not spanish nor portuguese...
Rio de Janeiro, as in the first month of the year...
Portuguese: Janeiro - Fevereiro - Março etc
Spanish: Enero - Febrero - Marzo etc
"In meetings leading to up to the second annual meeting of the IGF in Rio de Janiero on Monday..."

20/20 mbit should be enough for anyone.

FYI, this is one of the most famous Brega singers in Brazil: http://images.uncyc.org/pt/1/14/Falcao.jpg
You can imagine the rest
No, piracy is on the rise since Napster came along.. oh, wait, you are talking about 'real' piracy?
Thats true. 1000 feet or 300 meters is the normal distance aircrafts must have between them.
This video shows two aircrafts 1000 feet apart passing by each other: http://br.youtube.com/watch?v=xpYD0higmxk

In Brazil minimum wage is 380 reais, average wage is under 1000. Vista Home Basic Full retails at 500 reais, about 250 dollars.
I think MS has been doing this for years. Thats how Bill Gates got so damn rich!
