    TFA says 1 in 10 planes from 30 years to today could have being hit by an meteor.
    What are the chances of a car then? Must be much higher...

    On Win XP open "Windows Explorer" and click on "My Network Places", there is no "Entire Network" icon.
    Workarounds:
    1) Hit Refresh.
    2) Open Windows Explorer and navigate with the keyboard to that folder.

    I second that. Memtest found no error on my system but i found that running 4 sticks of RAM made the system unstable (4x1GB). 3x1GB is running stable for weeks now on Vista 64...

    You live in Brazil? The same Brazil i live? I have never head of snow in Brazil, not even in the south region, in high altitude cities... They get a little frost during the night, thats all.

    Ethanol cars always had trouble starting up when its cold, and by cold i'm saying Rio de Janeiro cold, 15ÂC. I remember when my father had to add a little gas to the carburetor (i think) to be able to start the car...

    This doesn't happen anymore with Gas/Ethanol (flex fuel) cars.

    I forgot one thing. Isn't it target to netbooks? You are not supposed to be working on Excel, Firefox, Acrobat and Photoshop at the same time on a netbook!

    Why Windows 7 would be different from XP or Vista Starter Editions? They all have the same limitations, its not only the 3 application at a time thing. There are other minor differences too.

    This edition is to lower the cost to OEMs in developing countries. This way they keep the Windows everybody wants in theirs PC and MS keeps alternatives away.

    And please, RTFA. AntiVirus software isn't included in this 3 app limit!

    Some companies in Brazil are selling the cheapest PC you can imagine and shipping it with Linux (Pentium Dual Core 1GB DDR2 120GB hdd etc). Starter Edition comes to lower their cost so that they keep Windows on their PC.

    But it doesn't work, most people call their geek friend and have a pirate copy of XP Pro or Vista Ultimate installed.

    Different hardware demands different configuration.

    Everytime i setup a computer to play Counter-Strike i have to tweak my mouse settings for the windows/mouse/hardware configuration for that machine.

    This could work to store my config for THIS computer, or saved games when applied, but game settings depend heavily on the hardware and Windows configuration.

    Brazilian voting machine first shows what are you voting for, lets say, president and governor.

    You type the number, a photo of the candidate appears on the screen along with his name and political party. You confirm your vote and the machine emits an audible alert.

    You proceed to governor, do the same thing but this time the alert sounds twice. That tells you and the people operating the machine that you are done voting. You cannot walk off thinking you voted when you didn't.

    That finnish machine should hold on to the card like some ATMs do.

    Then again we've got to remember that no official table exists and it's not in the Olympic spirit. Personally, I think an official one should be made just to settle things once and for all. It's all well and good saying people shouldn't rank the countries, but they do and it affects both tactics and funding.

    Maybe to 3rd world governments, not in retail.. M$ Office 2007 Professional goes for R$1599.00 in retail stores in Brazil, thats a little over 1k US dollars!

    I use this software, works quite well. I can play online and people on the network can browse the web without lagging me out. But you have to install it in the gateway. If your using a router and install the software on 1 machine it won't have the same efficiency.

    Brazil has been using voting machines for at least a decade. The good thing is we can follow the "counting" of the votes on the internet and the result comes in about 12 hours. Pretty impressive for a country the size of Brazil where some votes come from places like villages in the middle of the amazon. http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Elections_in_Brazil
