  5. ie: philosophers are shut out of the establishment on Does Philosophy Have a Role in Computer Science? · · Score: -1

of corporation, military, government, and thus you can see which computers are wedded to more fiercly quite easily.

once upon a time i was in college and there was a philosophy/cs 'meeting'. there is a lot to talk about there, concerning questions of consciousness, what is intelligence, what is thought, what is a human being. if you can replicate human intelligence in a computer then a lot of philosophical debates are solved.

    several philosophy professors showed up.

zero computer science professors showed up.

the computer science department was moved from the college of arts and sciences to the college of engineering. the administrators running the department had a philosophy that the school was a factory producing workers and leaders for businesses.

if you ask the advisors what to get as a minor, they all say business. any non technical course is considered a waste of time by students and by many teachers.

although i think they got a bit confused between 'leader' and 'worker', because all leaders need to understand philosophy, and many 'breakthroughs' in computers come from outside of 'computer science' itself.

but in the end i think that is a good thing. we dont want computer science to advance very quickly. it is too dangerous. if it cost 500 dollars to build a self replicating robot that could easily kill people, our society is so backwards and barbaric that life as we know it could basically end.

oh sorry, too much 'philosophy' again. lolly lol.

  19. why he is a 'scumbag pedophile' on Court Rules Burning Porn = Making Porn · · Score: -1

because scumbag pedophiles prey on children, children go missing all over the world every year, rich business men go to southeast asia to visit brothels of underage prostitutes forced into the profession by modern day slave masters, because 'pedophile' has a lot more connotations than "someone who is sexually attracted to children"... by downloading pictures of those children this person has committed an act; these downloads support the creators of such content, and the creators, without question, are harming the children. legally, perhaps it is not going to 'work' to 'ban child porn'... due to various reasons. but that doesnt mean 'scumbag' is not an appropriate predicate for 'pedophile'. and scumbag pedophile apologists, such as yourself, cannot escape the pain caused these children, by some elaborate argument and logical house of cards you build on sand.

Furhtermore, Einstein worked at the patent office when he wrote his biggest stuff; science used to be a hobby back at the turn of the century, not a multi billion dollar military industrial complex.
