I don't care which animal is cloned and whether it's the cloned animal I'm eating or it's descendant. The whole concept of cloning is scary just from the perspective that we really don't have enough information on cloning to know what effect it will have on their offspring.

  4. Re:Supply and Demand on Apple Legend Woz Blasts iPhone Price Drop · · Score: 1

I think everyone needs to be responsible for their own finances and not get mad at paying up front for having the latest technology. If you can afford $600 for a phone and you just can't wait to have it then you probably shouldn't complain about a price drop. Did the price drop too soon and too much....yes but that's how it goes. Anyone complaining about the fact should have been smart enough (like the rest of us) to wait until the drop happened. Duh.....

True, most people don't even scratch the surface of what their PC can do. That's why they don't want to spend much when comes to a new system. Most people figure that the cheapest PC will suit their needs.....until they realize how slow the thing is! There is something to be said for getting the latest technology but mostly only real geeks are going to care whether a CPU actually is capable of the claims made by the manufacturer. :')

  9. Artists Perspective on Record Labels Struggle With the Album's Demise · · Score: 1

What does anyone think artists feel about this? As a musician myself I find that the record companies are out to do just that, make records. It's the artists' job to write music that appeals to an audience and the record company's job is get the music to the audience. The problem is that record companies have NO IDEA what their audience wants and rejects most artists that write with originality and creativity and instead produces crap that no one wants to hear. I would buy more CDs (and still do for certain artists) if more was readily available.

I still think of some young people I've worked with who have become so reliant upon the "tool" itself that they failed to be able to accomplish on their own what the "tool" was created to help them do. First example: A 19 yr. old who's hand writing was barely legible at best because he had used a PC to type out his school work since the 6th grade! Come on, I don't have a problem with using a PC but I DO have a problem with not being able to even write the letters on your keyboard with a pencil! Second example: A 24 yr. old who didn't even know what 6x4 is since he'd used a calculator since the 4th grade. Again, there' nothing wrong with a calculator as a "tool" but let't not allow the "tool" to tell us what the answer is without some point of refernec for ourselves. It was the need for these "tools" that lead to the industrial revolution and our current digital age so yeah I am concerned that it's really more than an "addiction" with technology and has become an "obsession" to become more and more lazy and to allow computers to do all the work for us physically and mentally while we play our Xbox and listen to our iPod.

  19. Re:Spec-Tech-ular. on Are Americans Addicted to Technology? · · Score: 1

I think the point being that if we become so dependent on technology then it's not us using technology but technology using us. Most Americans take for granted that we have the Internet, cell phones, pcs, tvs and all the modern conveniences this world has to offer. The reality is that without these gadgets we wouldn't even know HOW to do our job or function at school. This is where I see a problem with technology "addiction" if you'll call it that.

"Evolution was not manufactured. It happens, regardless of belief." If this is true then why are scientists now retracting thier original theories of evolution and embracing what they call "Creative Design"? It seems to me that common sense would show that evolution is purely speculation since no evidence shows that humans especially did NOT evolve from apes. I didn't believe in evolution even before I believed there was a God since it just did not explain anything. I think evolution is a guess at best and is probably summed up just as the brother put it "Evolution was manufactured with a view to supporting a God-less universe". Natural selection may occur as you state but in very limited forms and without any substantial changes such as mutation happening very often at all.
