Not if the rate of other methods go up and compensate. When someone gets to the point where they decide to commit murder, they're not going to just give up because, oh gee, I couldn't get ahold of a gun.
Not all of them; I dislike additional gun control, but I am all about healthcare reform. Careful not to use too broad a brush; not everyone who disagrees with you about one issue is automatically an idiot and wrong about everything.
I'm 6ft tall, about 120lbs. I've never been in a fight. I couldn't do fuck-all to defend myself against someone who wanted to hurt me, other than run. I'm not going to count on that being an option, although I will certainly try it first. I legally carry a gun, and train with it regularly, so that if I or someone I care about or even a complete stranger is attacked in my presence, I can stop it, despite my small stature and complete lack of hand-to-hand fighting ability.
I have nightmares sometimes about actually having to use the gun against a living person. I have woken up crying, screaming. But I live in a high-crime area, and I will take emotional stress over death or the death of someone I care about without hesitation.
This is an annoyingly common misconception. Shooting a gun accurately is HARD; I've been shooting for several years and tens of thousands of rounds and I'm still not all that great of a shot. Shooting a gun is easy, but hitting your target is not. Especially with a handgun, for the untrained.
Which is exactly why most firearms hobbyists, like myself, choose to get a concealed carry permit, if available in their state. Ideally, teachers would be allowed this option as well.
Your information is extremely outdated. Maybe you haven't heard, but there's a huge and thriving PC gaming industry with many millions of players and hundreds or thousands of developers. Getting any random game running on a Windows box is a matter of popping in the disc and clicking next a few times while it installs.
Nicely explained. Mind if I borrow your 'yelling guy' simile for myself? I just got a job at Nintendo customer support, and I'm going to have to explain a lot of wifi-related concepts to very un-savvy users.
Almost every state has some kind of waiting period for handguns, unless you have a concealed carry permit valid in that state. Rifles and shotguns are pretty much universally buy-n-run though.
Excellent tactile feedback on the keys. Resistance and a sharply-defined point at which the key has been activated makes for a really good typing experience. It's tough to understand until you try it.
The vaguely-cube-shaped open-air case is in no way a new concept. Just off the top of my head, there's the DangerDen torture rack. Not to mention every 15-year-old hardware enthusiast who can't afford a real case and has to build one out of lego/wood/cardboard/k'nex.
What would actually be interesting would be a standard vertical tower case, built without the need or even the capacity for side panels. Just an open-air midtower case that actually looks good. And don't tell me to take off my side panels, because that's not the point here.
If you buy second-rate to begin with, though, then you can enjoy it for years before it turns third-rate. A much better investment, and usually a lot cheaper.

The Powers That Be..
Even though the web is full of quotes from the founding fathers saying EXACTLY the opposite?

Never mind the thousands of instances per year in which legally-armed individuals HAVE successfully stopped armed criminals...

Do really I sound like I have "murder fantasies"?

x86 compatible, that's what I'd like to see! Oh how I love to be able to pickup such a processor and build my main desktop rig with such a beast.
Thank you for being about the most sensible poster in this entire discussion, and for providing genuine facts, free of speculation.
"The US is rather famous for NOT having state censorship for TV such as England has." Ever heard of a little group called the FCC?

I don't have any real point. I just think it's funny.
The bathroom is the place I shit. I do that not in my shed or my car, but in my house. The fact that other things go on in there is not relevant.
CPU refers to a specific component with in a device. Redefining it to mean the entire device simply confuses things.

Um.. so what about that XO-1 on my shelf there, that has exactly what you describe? They did do it. It works great.

September 6, 1990 for mine. I love it like it's family.

And the waterbed.
Hear hear! I bought a purple iMac years ago, and it was the best system I ever had - once I replaced the mouse.
