In deciding the best MST3K ep ever, there is only one name to know. Greatness, thy name is Mitchell, the long flabby arm of the law! Butter, alcoholism, and incompetence never produced a more entertaining member of the law enforcement profession.
Since FOREVER? The media has always been biased in one way or another (it would be impossible not to be). Even the whole idea of "press impartiality" is a 20th century invention, and has been little more than a fiction from day one. Even deciding what stories to cover and what not to cover is an editorial and biased act.
If it makes you feel bad, take heart. Go back and read some newspapers from the 18th and 19th centuries if you want to see some REAL bias (ever wonder why so many papers have "Democrat" and "Republican" in their titles--that's because they started out as little more than party rags). You should have heard some of the slanders that newspapers fired against some of out previous presidents. Believe me, the Adams/Jefferson press war puts any modern-day muckraking to SHAME.
It wasn't so much that McCain sucked, it was that McCain was BORING. Here was a long-time known political player, running in an unpopular party with an unpopular leader, with a message that seemed to be an echo of the same old Republican Party platform that has governed the country for most of the last 8 years. Then here comes Obama--a fresh, young, handsome guy with a message of change; drawing HUGE crowds at his rallies, inspiring worldwide excitement, defeating a CLINTON in the primaries, and having the historic distinction of being a black guy with a serious chance at winning the Presidency (actually half-black/half-white, which was even MORE interesting). How could the press resist THAT?
Sometimes Youtube is like some sort of arena where the weak are abused for the mere amusement of the masses. And of course, Italians would never put up with such a vile spectacle!
To which Balmer should respond, "Sure Jerry. We'll offer you a fraction of what we offered to you a few months ago when you told us to go to hell. And we'll only offer *that* if part of the package includes you giving my shoes an on-camera polishing with your tongue."
The belief that making prostitution illegal will somehow stop or even hinder it has to be one of the most irrational human beliefs that we've ever engaged in. And many cultures have engaged in this insanity for thousands of years, seemingly unable to learn a lesson that should have become obvious long, long ago. It's right up there on the irrational human belief scale with the stubborn human propensity to believe in sky gods, magic, demons, witches, etc.
The first company that puts out a decent MMO for a console knows that they'll be tapping into a HUGE market and a lot of money. I still can't understand why so many companies have decided to forgo making a console MMO in favor of yet-another-PC-only-WoW-killer-that-will-fail. Most bizarrely of all has to be Bioware, which recently announced a Knights of the Old Republic MMO that will be PC-only--this in spite of the fact that KOTOR made almost all of its money on consoles and that their is already a PC-only Star Wars MMO (Galaxies) that was an epic fail an money-sink.
Great, now I'm going to have to clean all the crapware off my new computers AND my new routers. Maybe they'll make us pay extra for a spam-free router in the future.
Again, this is why all these "it's easy to bypass blocking software" arguments are a crock of shit. Sure it's easy. All you need is a host outside the firewall (i.e., in another country if you're in China or Australia) and a way to find out the address of that host THROUGH the firewall that isn't already blacklisted (or soon to be), and the technical know-how to configure your computer to use a proxy. And those requirements, right there, make it all but impossible for 99.99999% of the population to bypass the firewall.
I can't even bypass my school's websense software. And not a single reply so far has told me a way to do it without first finding a host outside the firewall whose address I can't find because, as I said in my original post, ALL THE PROXY LISTS ARE FUCKING BLOCKED!
Any decent blocking software also blocks all the popular proxy lists and proxies too (and it constantly updated). Software that does this (like Websense) may not be impossible to get around, but it makes it damn hard (and I know, this is what my school uses and even with my knowledge it's still hard to find a proxy).

God, I wish I had mod points for you.

...would immediately be crushed by Congress in an act of self-preservation.

I once saw a guy get stabbed for cutting in line at a heavy metal concert. Headbangers don't play that "Uhm...EXCUSE me you rude person!" crap.
It's the #1 journal of choice for kick-ass guys who get ALL the pussy!
Don't knock that guy. He made millions off that stupid "Jump to Conclusions Mat"

Of course Yahoo employees are going to leave. With such a great job market in California right now, it will be easy for them to.
Oh, wait.
Yeah, but Yang stood up to THE MAN! His shareholders should always take second place to his own personal dislike for MS.

Legal? yes. Ethical? no. Tolerated by your customers? Hell no.

And how exactly am I supposed to find a server to tunnel *TO* when all the lists of SSH hosts are blocked?
Great. Now how do I get a remote host? Let me guess, I go to a proxy list that Websense blocks?
If I had "a PC running on a high-speed Internet connection on the other side of the Websense proxy" I suppose it wouldn't be.
I can download Tor, but when I try to use it, all I get is a "Proxy Server Refused Connection" message (using TorButton in Firefox).

Just what kind of topsy-turvy world is this new Obama era producing?!?!
Now he'll sue /. for slander, for posting this article.
