I disagree. A friend of mine has modded his XBox with XBMC (I assume you are referring to XBox Media Centre) but has a boot loader (is that the right term?) that allows him to select which system his XBox will load. One of those systems is the original XBox system, which means he can play on XBox Live if he wants, but also has the many benefits of XBMC.

I use Adblock in Firefox and it is very effective. Particularly, as already stated, the ability to use wildcards and block iFrames and scripts. I mostly use it for images/flash that I wouldn't want to see even if it was part of the content I was looking at (which it wouldn't be).

I think counterstrike ruined counterstrike... (sorry for trolling). Seriously though, if wallhax & aimbots are potentially legitimate in the real world, maybe we'll get more of them in gaming, and then more people will go outside and get some exercise, or read a book. It's all a massive consipracy to get people away from computer and video games.

I disagree. If people are going to be more than 6 hours between access to a charger, which I often am, you're in trouble. Particularly if you have a device with a non-removable battery (e.g. a lot of HDD MP3 players. I know the iPod's don't have removable batteries, and my H320 doesn't either.)

What I think she's saying is that presentations created in MS PowerPoint work fine in OpenOffice. This 'compatibility' extends to the backgrounds / clipart used by PowerPoint. Really? OpenOffice can handle gif/jpg images in a presentation? NOW I'm impressed.

You've got it in one. I used to be a massive mac-head. Then I realised that there was a whole other world of *decent* games and expandability (have you ever tried upgrading the RAM in an iMac!?!?!) available if I looked through the window. I still love MacOSX (with a multi-button mouse) more than Windows.

Amen! I'm in clan SPANDEX [ sDX| ] (here in Australia on the GameArena ladder for RTCW: Enemy Territory) and we have a great (older) female captain. She's great at being 'mother goose' and keeping us all in line as far as behaviour and being on time for matches. The best thing is that everybody treats her as an equal, which is a nice change in gaming circles.

For example, the current list is: Need For Speed: Underground 2 Chronicles of Riddick Knights of the old Repulic: Sith Lords RTCW: Enemy Territory Not only does this mean I have a greater ability to shift focus and transfer skills, but it also keeps boredom at bay (you're not going to get bored with a game and stop playing it forever if you can put it down and play something else and come back to it.

I know A LOT of gamers. I mean, I probably know more hardcore gamers than 'normal folk'. But I also know a lot of 'normal folk' who play computer games. The hardcore gamers (of both genders), play a lot of different games and aren't seperated by gender. For example, some of the girls play FPS, but some of the guys play The Sims too. On the other hand, the 'normal folk' gamers are more clearly split and defined. The regular gaming guys play mostly FPS or RTS and most of the regular girls play mostly 'the sims' and other pacificistic games.

I think you will find that it is a game, of the First Person Shooter genre, that is titled "Black". Such as there is another game of said genre that is called "Quake". for this game, the title of the article could have been called "Quake FPS Preview".

Personally, I take offence at the "Good Christian Audience" label. A few facts about me: 1. I believe that Jesus died for my sins and was resurrected. 2. I play all sorts of computer games and watch all sorts of movies. 3. It is my personal choice to play the occassional 'questionable' game that contains possibly excessive violence and other themes. 4. I can distinguish the difference between a computer game / movie and the real world. It is this ability to understand the ??subtle?? differences between fact and fiction that has enabled me to live a normal life and not run around killing people just because I saw it in a game. What do you think of the quote "Games don't kill people, mental illness and child abuse kills people" ???

Religion is the bane of my existance. There is a strong line between Religion and Faith. Anybody can walk into a church every Sunday, sing a few songs and listen to some guy speak. It is the faith that Jesus died for your sins and was resurrected on three days later (or whatever else you believe) that shines through you and your actions that can change lives.

The question is not "Is the MUSIC christian?" it should be "Is the ARTIST christian?" Alice Cooper is a Christian, so is Bono (but everyboyd knows that). In response to your statement that it's 100% marketing, so is 90% of 'mainstream' pop music. The 'debuted at #1' singles are there because their markerting companies have managed massive distributions. If you can ship 2million copies in the first week - best of luck - go to the top of the pops. cheers Woody

  19. Re:Non religious on PlayStations of the Cross · · Score: 1

Have you listened to "secular" 'pop' recently? It's very lame. I've got a significant collection of 'Christian' music, but try to stay away from the poppyturd that simply tries to make Jesus cool. He wasn't cool but He was and is loved anyway. Check out http://www.project86.com/ or http://www.dayoffire.com/ for some out of the ordinary Christian rock. Re-reading your comment, it is uncertain whether you were referring to the Contemporary Christian Music (CCM) market, or the music market in general. Either way - there needs to be a bit more focus on the talent of the artists and not just what is going to sell.
