IF you think FB is going away, what's going to replace it?? So many people here talk about how lame facebook & myspace are without having ever used them. Facebook is clean, streamlined. Easy to weed out the dumb shit (They've gotten A LOT better at this, a year or two ago it was starting to be a problem). Facebook isn't going anywhere because nothing will replace it. Google+ Is actually pretty sweet, but it's not enough to make (Most people) ditch their FB accts.
Free Texting (and they give you a phone number) and phone calls. All the solutions I'm aware of lack Picture Capability, but Google is working on that I Think. Fuck AT&T & Verizon's 20 bucks a month for texting, that's all I'm saying. Anyone who pays so much for so little needs their head checked

A group of us interested in computers went to the District office or whatever, where they had some computers connected to the web. (Mosaic was the browser of course) I didn't understand much at the time (didn't have a computer yet) but I asked a friend why the pages loaded slow (it was a 384k connection) My friend, used to 14.4 Dial up said "dude, you have no idea how fast this is". The next year when I finally got a computer, I realized how nice that 384k was. It would be 8 years before I used a connection that fast again.
