    I've maintained for a while, that I am a nerd, into computers, and tech stuff etc.I Also say that I am not a geek, because "Geeks" are Star Trek, anime, and get dressed up as such characters (and other things I think are retarded) . I point to Slashdots title, news for nerds, as exhibit A. (A majority of stuff on the site is about nerd stuff, not geek stuff). Anyone agree/Disagree?

    Gotta love the Douglas Adams quote, I can agree with it to a point, as I am only 30. Also, lots of technology that I thoroughly appreciate, I find my nephew just expects to work, and work well every time. (He's 16). I Can't imagine a technology that I would ever be suspicious of though, but then again I'm a nerd.

    It's absolutely NOT trivial. I Upgraded my Boss's MB and had to get XP re activated for some bullshit reason. I Spent 2 hours on the phone with some asshole in india who spoke shit English. Make that 3 assholes. Got Xferred multiple times.

    When my friend told me he had Windows 7 on his Netbook i was suprised, I was even more suprised upon using it though.. snappy, responsive, I was impressed (full disclosure, don't remember all the details but it had 2 gigs of ram, single core 1.6 ghz atom)

Crazy parents gone wild? it's hard to pin point what the hell went wrong here, but it bears out the old idiom the truth is stranger than fiction, skimmed TFA and saw it's british, here in the US social services and society as a whole are overwhelmingly knee jerk on topics like this, and I wouldn't be suprised if a parent that put this on their child ended up in bracelets.

    That is an understatement, especially ocean going reactors, I was a nuclear operator on a navy nuc powered sub, and we often heard how the Russian navy used officers in the same positions we used enlisted people, and still they were left wanting in the operational safety.
