Anyone (well alsmost anyone) who trades stocks is aware of these fraud tout mails and understands the liability. However problem is, you send a html link to 100 people and at least one of them will click on it because
- he was bored and had to something/anything
- his mouse happned to be near the link and he just cliked
- out of sheer curiosity
And, if 100 people visit a site, at least one of them will fall prey to it at least once in 100 years:-) becasue his subconcious mind records the name of the stock.
Now, if you send 100M mails, the final number may be more than 1!
Bottomline: we need strict rules and better teck to handle spammers.
The European Union commissioners have announced that agreement has been reached to adopt English as the preferred language for European communications, rather than German, which was the other possibility. As part of negotiations, her Majesty Government conceded that English spelling had some room for improvement and has accepted a five-year phased plan for what will be known as EuroEnglish (Euro for short).
In the first year, "s" will be used instead of the soft "c". Sertainly, sivil servants will reseive this news with joy. Also, the hard "c" will be replased with "k". Not only will this klear up konfusion, but typewriters kan have one less letter.
There will be growing publik enthusiasm in the sekond year, when the troublesome "ph" will be replased by "f". This will make words like "fotograf" 20 per sent shorter.
In the third year, publik akseptanse of the new spelling kan be expekted to reach the stage where more komplikated changes are possible. Governments will enkourage the removal of double letters, which have always been a deterent to akurate speling. Also, al wil agre that the horible mes of silent "e"s in the languag is disgraful, and they would go.
By the forth year, peopl wil be reseptiv to steps such as replasing "th" by "z" and "w" by "v". During ze fifz year ze unesesary "o" kan be dropd from vords kontaining "ou" and similar changes vud of kors be aplid to ozer kombinations of leters.

very motivating list.. i really wish that was true. here is what the article reports
"We proactively made decisions that caused those capabilities to go away," noted NASA chief, Michael Griffin "We have a decade's worth of workto be able to get back to where we were"
I'll say the proposal of new distro lacks much substance and looks more like driven from Larry's desire to match/surpass Gates.
Larry is known to pursue such deals to completion against (almost) everyone else's wish.
This decision too is certainly not one of those to taken to reward shareholders.
may be possible:
* track the guy registering the DNS (people will less likely click on IP address & give their password, although some will:-( )
* solve mother of all online problems: SPAM. no SPAM, phishermen will have few fieshes to target

how can i view data w/o downloading on my comp at least in memory?:-)
not of course by increasing storage but by incresing MTBF. yes no moving parts => much higher MTBF
no moving parts => no seek required => dont incuss 6 mS for a 512B transfer from hard drive
plan is to use small flash in conjungtion with regular hard drive and your flash contains everything need to boot your computer.
believe me, you are going to love it when you can swtich it on (even windows!) in less than 1 sec.
NCQ allows hard drive to reorder various commands/accesses to suit its current head position.
Depending on your app you might not see a lot benfits from it e.g when you do serial access all the time but lack of it will certainly cause degradations when multiple apps are active.
Also by using one big hard-drive instead of multiple smaller ones its putting all eggs in one basket. Mechanical problems are more frequent than magnetic ones for a hard drive..
when M$ charges $300 for XP everybody cries foul. but charging $1 or so per song is also too expensive in my mind. Apple got ~50 million songs downloaded @$1/song.
Bring prices down to reasonable limit 1-5 cents and legal downloads will take off the ground.
i love Redmond guys! They are so self-confident. consider working on stupid IE and hoping it will be anywhere near firefox:-)
only those people use IE who dont know how to switch.
India has been doing VERY good in applied sciences and technology in spite of limited resrouces.. mainly because of huge techi population.
Its one of the 5 nations to launch PSLV, is working on intercontinetal ballistic missles, one of 5-6 nuclear nations. So, as far as space research is concerned i wouldn't call it 3rd world country:-)
And, at least in space research, there is virutally no coperation between US and India after Indian nuclear test in 1998.

why not only replace the hard drive instead of throwing all of the computer? ;-)
