Did anyone stop and think that it was more of a scare tactic than anything else? I for one can't sit here and actually believe that the lawyers for the fastest growing computer company in the world has inept lawyers.
My guess is they did it to scare the people who were leaking, just to prove that they CAN do something, without actually DOING something.
As per Job's Keynote they will be doing a full move to Intel by the end of 2007. The chips are for WARRANTY computers. They have to have a supply to fix computers, NOT sell them.
Apparently Taco didn't want to post the ENTIRE part of the section he quoted. From TFA:
The scroll ball has a subtle clicking sound as you roll it, which sounds extremely natural while using the mouse, but if you test it without the mouse being plugged in, you find that the sound is in fact not coming from the mouse's movements itself. Additionally, there is a very faint click (which was difficult to hear in a relatively quiet office environment) associated with the side squeeze buttons that also does not exist when the mouse is unplugged. The initial uproar over the idea of the speaker and synthetic sounds had us all convinced that there would be loud, horrible, and campy mouse sounds being emitted from our mice, but that was absolutely not the case. Frankly, I was almost a little disappointed that I would not be able to make fun of those "features!"
People seem to be focused on size, but SHAPE is just as, or even more important. What you you rather carry in your pocket, a SQUARE, or a FLAT RECTANGLE (IE: shuffle, sony thing, etc.)
Imagine a corner of that stupid thing digging into your leg. No thanks.
Apple is running a back to school special right now until September 24th where if you buy a 4GB mini or higher, and a computer, they'll give you $179 back (the price of an educationally discounted 4GB mini).
They will not release a video iPod until this promotion is over.
I don't understand how some people are saying "OMG Apple switched at the wrong time oh noes!@#!!"
Does everything HONESTLY think Apple didn't know the exact release date of the 970MP BEFORE they announced their switch?
Apple knew when and where this was going to be released, and they know when and where Intel will release their next series. They switched because they wanted to, this isn't a surprise to them.
"Unlike Apple, however, we are not going to spend our money trying to convince people that we are good. We are going to spend our money telling people what we offer. At Creative, more is better. Our products are packed with more features -- an FM tuner and voice recorder, for example -- and we're able to deliver this at a lower price. That's where we can win."
If people don't know about the product (and the majority of the world does not thanks to their lackluster marketing) how are they going to demonstrate those wonderful features? Walk before you can run...
as was mentioned previously, Apple gave back all that was required of them. You're acting like Apple took what they needed and ran. That is simply not true. They gave back what they were specifically required and asked for, and then split.
That is sort of like some one agreeing to give you one piece of candy and then you getting mad because they didn't give you 6. It just doesn't make sense.
Do you honestly believe that every feature in every OS release for every platform is going to have nothing but huge new features? OF COURSE there are going to be small features that no one will ever use. Are you trying to HELP your case, or hurt it?
Even better! The features of SP2 overwhelm me. If I hadn't already updated to it when it came out, I'd most certainly do it now when it's being forced on everyone, regaurdless of wants or needs.
Are you serious? How many "features" did SP2 come with? A firewall. Wow, what a huge addition. Wait, actually that is something that should have been there since Windows 3.1. This is a MAJOR release. Wait until you actually see all the improvements first hand. I can, without certainty, see you pulling the foot out of your mouth.
I'll never understand how people can comment on something they know nothing about yet. I have my (LEGAL) copy of Tiger already, and I see posts like yours and laugh.

But then again, I'm just speculating.
Sign me up for Sun!

Apple STARTED this. For a "Mac zealot" you're behind the times. :)

It's the Studio Mouse Seen here: http://www.kensington.com/html/4769.html Or Wireless: http://www.kensington.com/html/4768.html As said earlier, they've been making them for years.
So wait... you're still complaining that Apple complied with everything they were required to do, and not doing more? blah blah blah

I don't care what they mod me haha... I hate Microsoft, so sue me. Even if they make the better product. I don't care.

Can we view pictures on our 2D monitors?
