A CRT, mouse, and keyboard that never leave. The coffe machine and such is on another table entirely, as clients tend to dislike it when coffee spills all over their machine, especially when it's running

It's been curtailed beacuse there have been years of fighting as to where to build it, and in said time, the design has only increased in little bits. How does it require much money from us when it isn't under construction or operation? Now though, funding will pick up since we've resolved our differences over the location of the project

If that cheaper one finances an anti-whatever-country-you're from terrorist organization, would you buy it anyway, knowing that it pays for bullets that could wind up in your or your family's chests? The environmental/social concerns are the same thing, only less direct. Will you buy a non-environmentaly company's product if you know that you'll get cancer in 30 years because of it? What if they start discriminating against you, just because its cheaper? Besides, the system is too big to screw up. What do you define as 'the wealthiest'?

I know that my family saved quite a lot of money thanks to these cuts, and we are by no means 'wealthy'. These tax cuts don't just benefit the rich. It's just that those who are rich, who PAY MORE TAXES get money back as well.

As for NASA, they suffer from a lack of good publicity. Most of what reaches the average person's ears are their mistakes and failures. People, including those who affect funding, are probably looking for some results. Results that they might be able to use in a re-election campaign or might see as not being a waste of money.

If you want more money for NASA, write to people who can make those decisions, don't complain about administrators who LOSE (I can get it right sometimes) their jobs. Because whether they deserved it or not, it won't change now and they probably didnt have the same funding impact as certain influential senators.

I use Windows because I'm a gamer. I used to use macs when I was like 12, and even earlier in elemenary school, but not anymore. With my broadband connection, behind a router with NAT, I have yet to catch anything on either of my 2 Windows boxes. I run only CA's AV software. I have never gotten spyware results in AdAware or SpyBot.

I have only ever 'lost' one box to malfunctions. That was a 9 year old Win95 box that I gave to my grandmother. I lost it 16 months after giving it to her, because the (original) power supply went out, and it wasn't woth replacing. My current box is 5 years old, and has merely lost a cheap power supply during a power surge. It started off on 98, but was upgraded to 2000. It suits me just fine.

Spend what you would on a mac (other than the mini) on a custom windows box, and i wouldn't be to concerned about reliability if you choose parts wisely.

I would have to agree. Last year I spent some time in Florida with my brother and his girlfriend. Her brother had all three systems. We played Halo for awhile, but people got frustrated. We stayed away from the PS2 due to the lack of an adapter for 4 controllers. We fired up the cube, though and played MarioKart for long enough to race every course. The we played WarioWare. For 6 hours straight. We only went to bed due to the impending drive to Seaworld. Nintendo has games where you dont get angry about losing, because you had fun even when you bit the dust. That's my experience at least.
