But if you're writing for one of the BSDs [e.g. FreeBSD], what compiler [& libraries] do you use? Obviously you can't touch the GCC with a ten foot pole.
You use GCC. Just because you use a GPL compiler doesn't make your code GPL.
You mean there are other countries where the guy who regulates the media doesn't have a brother in a government who lies shamelessly to its people and to the UN? Sounds marvellous...
Micheal Powell, head of FCC, is Colin Powell's son not his brother.
When it came out I had a weeks holiday from work and bought loads of games (DoA:XBV, Panzer Dragoon Orta, Metroid Prime, and a few others), intending to play them that week and then take them back for a refund at the end of the week.
If you had no intention of keeping the games why didn't you just rent them?
Firstly, Like QT, it is under a dual-licence This situation is different because unlike Trolltech, Seavsoft doesn't own all the code they are distributing and therefore can't just relicense it anyway they want.
But the Palm Desktop software for the Mac, which is Claris Works in disguise
Sorry to nitpick but Palm Desktop for Mac OS is not Claris Works in disguise, it is based on Claris Organizer. AppleWorks on the other hand is Claris Works in disguise.

As far as I know there is no xvid quicktime component yet. Until one is written one you won't be able export a xvid movie from a quicktime based editor like iMovie. However you could export to some quicktime supported format and re-compress using a tool like ffmpegX.
Mr. James: "The original title of this book was 'Jimmy James, Capitalist Lion Tamer' but I see now that it's... 'Jimmy James, Macho Business Donkey Wrestler'... you know what it is... I had the book translated in to Japanese then back in again into English. Macho Business Donkey Wrestler... well there you go... it's got kind of a ring to it don't it? Anyway, I wanted to read from chapter three... which is the story of my first rise to financial prominence... I had a small house of brokerage on Wall Street... many days no business come to my hut... my hut... but Jimmy has fear? A thousand times no. I never doubted myself for a minute for I knew that my monkey strong bowels were girded with strength like the loins of a dragon ribboned with fat and the opulence of buffalo... dung....Glorious sunset of my heart was fading. Soon the super karate monkey death car would park in my space. But Jimmy has fancy plans... and pants to match. The monkey clown horrible karate round and yummy like cute small baby chick would beat the donkey.
While you can run OO.o through X11, it doesn't support things like copy-paste from non-X11 applications, something everyone uses.
You can copy and paste between x11 and native Mac OS X Apps. I typed this in OpenOffice 1.1.2 and pasted it into Safari.
The cradle and remote control.

I've tried the 3 currently-popular ones (can't recall them off the top of my head
Did you try ffmpegX.
I think CalTrans bought up the whole inventory in that market.
CalTrans tried but they all were already being used on the Big Dig.
I'm bored with Apple's cutsie names for everything, too.
Then you probably shouldn't buy a player from iRiver.
All iMacs have two ram slots so maybe you should take a second look.
As for your distro search... Did you try Debian or look for an older distro?
They had the standard 32 megs of ram (no expansion slots, of course)...
The original iMacs had two ram sockets. The standard 32 megs filled only one of these sockets. The second should still be free.
If you have two optical drives one will open with the Eject Key and the second will open with Option + Eject.
Doesn't Compact Flash have a limited number of write/rewrite cycles? I would think using it for swap would burn through those cycles very quickly.
They play fine for me using Windows Media Player 9 on my mac
Have you tried using Patchburn to get that DVD-R working?

Well, they've got this thing where the power button is on the keyboard.
The power button is no longer on the keyboard.

Think Different has not been part of their marketing for several years.
Microsoft Office 2004 does exist.
I'm waiting for the Scottish version.
Me too because as we all know "If its not Scottish its crap!"
Finally, something we humans can beat machines at!
I think he might pose a challenge.
Authorities have issued an arrest warrant for this man. : )
That work well for Mr James on NewsRadio:

Stay away from my luggage!
...a buddy flick with Chris Rock as the comic relief sidekick
I'd love to see more about Rufus, the 13th apostle.
