Since the courts have been throwing out any evidence gathered from "stop-and-frisk" as being illegally acquired, just what is the point of this heavily defended policy anyway?
Stop lying. Its LISTED on a site somewhere, but its NOT available. You can click it, send money and wait till November, thats not selling, thats pre ordering.
This "crippled piece of shit" can, among thousands of other things, run XBMC and output 1080p video, turning and dumb TV into a smartTV. Not too shabby for $25.
The FTC requires that country-of-origin claims be assessed by portioning the manufacturing costs of the final product. A couple of dollars worth of foreign components/costs in an otherwise domestically sourced product that costs $300 is not considered to be an issue. If, on the other hand, the final product cost $5, then it's not acceptable to make a "Made in the USA" claim.
It's Valve. Mandatory DRM and an each-purchase-is-non-refundable-and-permanently-bound-to-just-you approach to software distribution. I really could care less if you open-sourced every thing you've ever made, the damage done in the name of greed by your company overshadows any good deed you could possibly do.
if I was Samsung I wouldn't sell them so much as a screw.
You'd shoot yourself in the foot for banning your biggest customer. Hopefully, that's not *your* revenue stream we're talking about, so that you can easily say you wouldn't sell them a screw.
Hint: If Sammy drops Apple as a customer, they'd need a major restructuring and they'd also need something to do with the 100 plants they have serving Apple.
Famous last words of Walmart suppliers before they go out of business replaced by in store brand.
Yes, 3 frames of latency will the be the doom of all user experience. Why, the latency will sky rocket from.06s (double buffered) to.09s (triple buffered). Oh the humanity!
thats 90ms on top of "normal" android 100ms latency
Terrible business sense. Users are not customers anymore. Today big data is the commodity. You can (and should) monetize your logs. Otherwise you are a terrible CEO.
Bitch about $800k all you want, but at $400k I think we get a $400k run internet.
Exactly, thats why you pay CEOs multi million dollar bonuses to succed in the market like Bear Sterns, Fannie Mae, Freddie Mac, Lehman Brothers, Bear Stearns and Merrill Lynch, Morgan Stanley, Goldman Sachs etc
The only way I can see this working is if the computational results are non-deterministic.
Whole universe is deterministic. And at what point would that pass your magical "non-deterministic" test? I can throw 1000 training samples at logistic regression algo and I bet you wont be able to tell the result, was my algo creative or you just stupid?
Otherwise, it is just people telling a machine what to say
How is that different from people telling other people what to think and say?

It fills up the quota.
Thought that was always just the Aussies. Huh.
chavs, not australians.

Plus, watching playthroughs on Youtube, the characters are more compelling than the TV show.
yep, check this one out for example :D

hilarious
2.9 million in copying?
I think I want to die.
97M pages @ $2.9M = 3 cents/page. Pretty reasonable since "copying and organizing" presumably includes labor.
I want to be paid 3 cents per GREPped page

Perma death, no easy mode, no QTE, no intros, no cut scenes, no bullshit.
The Raspberry Pi is available today at $35

Only if you use one codec. No Xvid/mpeg2 etc.

Here is a link to the FTC page which describes the situation a bit more clearly, if not nearly so briefly.

So the die cast case cost >$200? makes sense.
The only people for whom he will be a martyr are those for whom the message "we will get you" is being sent.
Such as the Icelandic MP Birgitta Jonsdottir who used to be an activist working for Wikileaks, something you think an honest summary would mention.
are you suggesting she likes it without rubber?

You have to wonder what will happen with Steam model in light of a recent EU decision.

Agreed. The "diet can cure diabetes" meme is so much popsci crap
Sorry. Having lived with a type 2 diabetic for the last decade makes me touchy about the topic.
Soo, are you fat? This is what parent was suggesting.

So, simply transcribing the speech into text (subtitling) is not, and will never be, sufficient, even if it becomes perfect.
Its not about sufficient/perfect solutions for the blind, its about complying with law.

Just pass everything through voice recognition (even shitty M$ one) and all of a sudden you comply. This is how YT is doing it.
I am so close to closing my Facebook account it is not even funny anymore.
No you aren't you sheep, stop fantasizing. You are a slave.
You dont need fidelity for most machine learning problems. Algorithms pick up details that humans consciousness misses.
It spins at just 2,000 RPM and sits a thousandth of an inch above the processor
What could possibly go wrong? Seems like a pretty tight tolerance with all the vibration that could occur in a server room.
Read up a little on the science of Hard Disc Drives - heads usually rode on air, just above the platter surface. Same effect could be employed here.
Guess what happens when you kick a hard drive.
You forgot to mention floods, like what happened in Thailand last year, and could possibly happen again this year.
That flood was GREAT for business. Both WD and Seagate got record profits out of it.

Watch this for example.

However, the Surface tablet froze in the middle of the presentation.
Not only that, later on presenter was trying to show camera widget and it "only" took him 4 tries :). I stopped watching after that.
"2,500 times more precise"
Which, of course, does not mean "2,500 times more accurate."
metrology != meteorology
lol
precision = true positives / (true positives + false positives)

I bet its Web Scale!
