I, along with a group of kids from my high school, took a guided tour of not one but two data centers when we visited Intel Santa Clara. At least for people our age, the "don't touch anything or we kill you" factor seemed to work well enough, and we had a great time learning about how data centers are set up and run.
I voulenteered at ACCRC for quite a while up untill about 7 or 8 months ago. When I was there, the generator was working to some degree and the cluster was up to somewhere around 20 GHz total CPU power. At that point, he had done several renders including a nice fly by of a chess board and I'm sure he's done a lot more since then.
The Make Faire seems like a good opertunity to expand and show off the cluster, and demonstrate what can be done with technology generally concidered antiquated.
A guy in our neighborhood has a working collection of these and other working victrolas etc. It's amazing how loud they can be without any electricity.
I recenty took a similar trip to Costa Rica where one of our jungle tour guides told us about a similar fungus that affects grasshoppers. Supprisingly, she also said that it has preformance enhancing effects when consumed by humans. No idea if this has any validity, but it is remarkablly similar to the fungus described here: Diseases are Killing Grassshoppers
I think this reply was caused by or a cause for someone to fill up the whole comments thing on the site with GAY NIGGERS SNIFF AJAX !! repeated over and over.
The most recent version of WMP for Mac only plays.wmv and possiblly.asf files. It doesn't work to play.avi files with the video encoded as wmv3 (WMP video). There is no way at all to play these files on a mac.
This is already available through the Distrust plugin. http://www.gness.com/distrust/
It's better not to use Windex on LCDs because it can cause them to discolor. Use a cleaner specifically for LCD screens instead.
Although the alternate install CD is needed, at least with the most stable version of Ubuntu, the process is not nearly so complicated. I've done it myself with the help from ThinkWiki. http://www.thinkwiki.org/wiki/Install_Ubuntu_Gutsy_Gibbon_on_a_T61p
When I first looked at this, I was trying to figure out how one goes about composting Novell on a cell phone.
That was one of my first games. I agree that the Bioshock version was substantially easier, especially with the use of slow plasmids etc.

These files are probably the native output of the software/equipment they're using.
How is this "Snake like implement" different from what is used in arthroscopic surgery today?
