I wouldn't get too bent out of shape over it. They're idiots. They have been interrupted from playing whatever mediocre FPS their mom bought them by a firmware update and Sony says it is because of the evil hackers so that is what it must be. Cue the outrage.
Hmmm... I wonder how closely habitual acceptance of misinformation parallels with low intelligence.
I think this all boils down to 'stupid people are stupid'.
The original article is poorly written (no, not even close to 86% you stupid twats) and kdawson is equally foolish for echoing this garbage. This is why this site sucks. Brain-dead slashdot editors, time and time again, post shitty articles that make extraordinary claims which end up being completely false or misleading.
These band sim games are getting even more ridiculous than the Madden series. Another toy guitar game with different songs, avatars and a new video loop in the background.
Sickening. I hope the Oval Office's latest corporate whore feels good about himself. Millions of stupid fucking Americans deserve no better than you Mr. Obama.
It's too cold. I think it would be extremely difficult to design a rover that can survive extended periods on Titan's surface. Surface temps plunge as low as -290 F. I think most materials used to build a rover would become very brittle at those temps.
I agree with you. It isn't a bad thing when the end user or a company has the option of turning on/off code signing. When it is forced upon everyone by Microsoft it is certainly a bad thing.
This security guy cited userland applications as the next battleground in windows. This, to me, sounds like he is trying to drum up support for completely locking down user space and only allowing signed apps to run in future versions of windows. Vista already forbids non-signed kernel mode drivers from running and has the ability to differentiate between signed/unsigned user apps. Previously, in XP, signed kernel mode drivers were an option and it was _not_ forced upon you. Application development on windows in the future might resemble iPhone development were you have to pay MS or some cert. authority a fee for every app that you want to distribute. As with anything, these future features will be advertised as for improving security when it is really about control and money. These are troubling trends.

They were only a whisper away from us.
So now all engineers must be watched because they might be terrarists? This sounds like a bunch of anti-intellectual bullshit. I'm not surprised since anti-intellectual backlashes are highly correlated with authoritarian societal movements and the west (led by the US & UK) has been marching this way since 9-11.
Nepenthes Rajah is probably the most notorious rat catcher. The pitchers on average are about the size of a NFL football and dwarf these newly discovered ones.

Don't feel too peachy about it. Germany was thought to be a modern, progressive state and yet that idiotic anti-hacker tool law idea originated with them. I say 6 months to a year from now and we will be reading about the US trying to do the same. In five to ten year's time, compilers will be outlawed too.
Just like TiggertheMad, no "side" of me thinks he should die in a fire. Get your priorities straight and save you vitriol for more worthy criminals.

Let's see... A large group of plebs believes that they are suffering from the same phantom ailment? That's a textbook sign of mass hysteria.

Take note! This means the end of your OS being in control of the hardware you buy. If you enjoy DRM being pile-driven down your throat then you will love EFI. http://blog.thesilentnumber.me/2009/01/efi-hidden-threat-to-computing-freedom.html

Buy the newest, most expensive removable media technology from Iomega.

It has certainly been marginalized. There are still plenty of pay-to-use Usenet providers around.

Wrong. It has nothing to do with quality control. MS only requires that kernel mode drivers are signed, nothing more.

Yes, it works. You need to provide keywords as well. Search for Image File Header filetype:exe
Google can also filter results by file extension. eg: filetype:exe
