When somebody says something can't be done, this doesn't mean that it's impossible, just that that person can't do it. I usually reply "Get the fuck out of the way numbskull, I'll do it!"
Good positive post, well done! I recall an article recently, where in Scotland, one of their options uses an enclosed chamber attached to land, where waves act as a pump forcing air through a turbine/generator combo. Another approach could be using the tides which are always reliable. There are many options
but CO2 -- the end product of complete combustion of any hydrocarbon with oxygen -- is also defined as dirty
Oh ye of limited imagination You don't need to burn something to transport yourself from point A to point B We have SO many options the mind can become overwhelmed. Places with geothermal can produce hydrogen fuel for automobile transportation, Iceland is doing it right now, btw, no CO2 produced. Locations with west facing seascapes can use the weather generated wave energy to produce electricity, Scotland has one of these in the works. Can be made to look like a park.
We have SO many options to choose from, the problem is where to begin
And energy rationing, by this name or any other, spells death for the economy. They might as well call it the "starve and freeze" bill.
Absolutely incorrect. (Score:5, Insightful) sadly shows your followers are as ignorant of the facts of this matter as you are.
The reality of this issue of upgrading our nation to energy efficiency is a economic boom for our economy. This endeavor equates to millions of jobs for Americans. Products needing upgrading and replacement == good paying jobs. New furnace & water heater upgrades need installers == jobs. Infrastructure upgrades need personnel to perform the work == jobs. President Obama's economic stimulus vision involves a complete technological upgrade to our national infrastructure. This is a good thing as it brings us out of our 18th century system and into a future reality. This whole project will even put money back into your pocket by lowering your own energy needs. It's a win/win scenario for us all.
In life, everything is what you make of it. If you see a challenge that needs met, you rise to the occasion and accomplish the task at hand. This is a great opportunity to improve our lives and country and advance into the 21st & 22nd centurys. The days of the large gas guzzling "Tuna Boat" are gone. I want my jet pack, electric crotch rocket, impulse power automobile, and warp drive star ship, as well as many others like me.
Change is good! It's time we move on and leave the dark ages of the past behind. There is opportunity at hand and those willing to advance into new technologies will prosper. And of course, those resisting will die out. Hopefully sooner than later.

And Hannity said the attack was not an attack, and he would allow people to throw rocks at him to prove that it was only a bit of fun.
Well now, that is quite an invitation. Sounds to me like Hannity gets off on a little S&M from time to time Not only would it be fun to throw large rocks at Hannity, especially if he enjoys it, it would also be great fun to swing a baseball bat at his head. Maybe even douse him with gasoline and set him on fire...

Unless my memory is faulty our CURRENT PRESIDENT voted for it himself...in his capacity as a United States Senator.
Your memory IS at fault. Obama went along with the vote as that was the only way he could maintain momentum and keep support for the conservative leaning part of his base.
All Bush did was sign it into law
No again, Bush thought it up!
Obama himself WANTED TARP and access to TARP money.
Oh, and that same Congress that passed T.A.R.P. was majority DEMOCRAT!
Your memory is severely faulted. You are defective. Must be neutralized. The congress was evenly split in political power before the election. Even though the repub side still had influence and momentum after 10 years of fucking the world up. The repubs called for TARP and the left side went along with the plan just as they had done on all other repub policies. It wasn't until after the election that the left gained majority control of both side of the house. Funny how they still seem hog tied by the repubs over changing the past 12 years of incompetent right-wing ideology.
Please pull your head out of your ass before posting in the future.
'In fact, one study reports that each year, copyright piracy from motion pictures, sound recordings, business and entertainment software, and video games costs the US economy $58 billion in total output, costs American workers 373,375 jobs and $16.3 billion in earnings, and costs federal, state, and local governments $2.6 billion in tax revenue.
And this is all complete bullshit that Mr. Hatch pulled out of his ass. "373,375 workers lost their jobs and $16.3 billion in earnings", because some people make backup copies of their CD & DVD disks? Come on now Mr. Hatch, I've heard you say some smart things on occasion, this isn't one of them.
I sure hope no manufacturers are stupid enough to put the receiver on top but even if it's on the front, where it belongs, a doily could hang over the edge and cover it.
Not to mention the other problem with doilies on electronic gear is that they often block air vents and cause fires. Doilies have their place, but not on cable boxes, amplifiers, tuners, etc... know what I mean Vern?

Reading many reply posts to yours, most here are not Business 101 people.
Buying domains for enterprise purposes isn't illegal nor immoral. It's just another business model some choose to offset their primary income from McDonalds or other low pay sources.
Their out-of-pocket expenses don't end with just the annual registration fees. Some that put a search page up also have to pay for hosting fees. After time this adds up to a chunk of change.
And YES this is the same as buying real estate. If you buy a bunch or prime remote swamp land today, other people may think you're nuts, but some day urban sprawl will make it out to you and then you will own the next New Orleans. Sorry trolls, this is Business 101, like it or not. Get over it.
Obligitory Disclaimer: I do not condone cybersquatting, and am not one that practices this. People out there do things everyday I disapprove of. Some acts more sleazy than others. Some people just can't come up with a better idea to pass the time and get paid for it. I'm okay with this, just stay on your own side of the fence and nobody will get hurt.
My personal experiences w/ ext4 Currently using/testing Kubuntu 9.04 with KDE 4.2.3 & ext4 All my systems are considered as production as I am a corporate business owner contractor and use this for accounting, administration, bidding, communication, development, etc. Kubuntu is not as stable as Lenny w/ KDE 3.5.10, but is stable enough for my needs. KDE 4.2.3 does provide some very nice features and the eye candy kicks ass. I also develop my own business software using QT4, which is why I opted for this configuration
EXT4 seems snappier than ext3 and I like some new features it offers although I may not be utilizing many to their fullest extent. I have also experienced files vanishing when being saved but had backups so the setback was not detrimental with exception of lost modifications.
Overall I prefer this setup over all other OS options available. It is always a pure joy to use, fast and efficient.
Linux wins another round. First, Linux in developing countries forced MS to break their "one price around the world" policy, creating the Starter Edition, then Linux on netbooks made MS extend XP and lower the price (further damaging Vista's sales), and now Linux on netbooks has forced MS to abandon its attempted segmentation of the market. Even without a large install base, Linux continues to be a force in the market.
Good points made After reading TFA, my first thought was that my state-of-the-art Linux installs never have limits of what I can do - period! It would be corporate suicide for M$ to severely cripple their product this way forcing their market base to purchase their top line version just to have multitasking abilities. Once again the "Linux cancer" keeps M$ in check. Which is a good thing for all the M$ fanboyz. You're welcome...

On Topic I've been to Texas before, even lived there for 4 years IMHO Texas is the asshole capitol of the world This move of installing cameras in urinals (among so many other examples) just certifies it as such We all know Texas as the patent troll capitol of the world. Sure this post will draw fire from morons... fuck it, piss on the trolls, now on camera live from Houston... How do you find Texas? From the east coast, drive west until you smell it, then go south until you step in it
I suppose only a few here following the whole series and got any value from it I found the script well written and a plot that actually flowed with continuity from one episode to the next, which is unusual with popular programming these days. The season finality was the best episode of all and brought many sideline stories together. Now I'm bummed that another series worth viewing had bit the dust
I would imagine this auction will be tops for the former VP Dick Cheney
Some items may even bear his mark as the original designer from way back when he was known as the infamous Dr Dick, international man of misery and sodomizer of chickens.
First off, why would anybody pay for what comes free over the airwaves? Secondly, daily news headlines are always the same bad news, day in and day out. SSDD. Nothing changes.
Myself personally, I would not pay for any daily news updates. I do get some dose of headlines each morning on my Yahoo email account main page, FOR FREE, but only to reaffirm my conclusions that our world is speeding down the shitter at an exponential rate of change with each passing year. Much like an initial approach into a black hole.
Straying slightly off topic but relevant to thread: Knowing that our world is full of jerks and assholes, I keep myself sane and smiling by viewing our world as a large rose patch. We have beautiful fragrant flowers alongside some nasty thorns. I know the thorns are there, but choose to focus on the roses instead. I choose to greet strangers with a smile and a G'day. Hold a door for someone random and expect nothing in return except for a smile. It's a form of Jedi Mind trick in that some miserable person will see you smiling and greeting strangers and will make them wonder what you have been up to. I impulsively burst out in laughter at the sight of someone with mouth turned down just to fend off the spread of bad energy. Do you know that when someone makes you angry, it takes 27 muscles in your face to make a frown, but only 3 muscles in your hand to reach out and slap them? That's actually an exaggeration but make for an amusing thought. Step one of my patented 12 step program to mental recovery begins by not viewing daily news broadcasts. But by all means, do not pay for bad news delivered into your face. If more would adopt this this mindset technique, the global blood pressure would lower.
