"look everyone, them there linux varmints are pirates and theives!! patent infringers!! patent infringers!!" And of course, Linux is the "respectible" free UNIX w/out the Devil on their shoulders, so obviously the BSD people must be worse then. It'll adversely affect all of the free software community and make Microsoft look "right" -- free/open software is for pirates and h4x0rZ and shouldn't be trusted w/ your business.

Slashdot editors are prjudiced against handy capped people and BSD users. While submitting a story reguarding this handy new technology for deaf people to be able to talk to those who cannont sign, under this account, it got rejected in under 2 minutes. submitting the same story as "I am linus's ho", it is still pending, 10 minutes later. While another "ask slashdot" containing "why yo be playhating" earned me massive downmods in past comments deleiving me karma down from 'excellent' to 'good'. thusly, i conculude that slashdot editors are facist jew haters who hate bsd users and deaf people.

Perhaps we shouldn't be asking whether or not we should develop a new form of hardware to avoid DRM, but what is currently available that's so bloody weird that they'd not bother. NetBSD and Linux run on practicaly anything. If we all started using say, ARM CPUs, reusing old SPARCs, etc, it'd be alot easier and alot cheeper. Who is going to fund a company dedicated to making open, non-DRMed hardware? Next thing you know, as a VC, your being sued and/or prosecuted for facilitating piracy, terrorism, etc.
There is plent of non-Intel(and friends) stuff out there already. Microsoft doesn't controll it in the slightest, and itd be too much of an undertaking for them to do it. I don't think ARM has much to lose from "just saying no" to microsoft.

First of all, 'entrapment' only applys to law enforcement agencies. That said, only in specifc circumstances. If you are coherced into doing something by an undercover police officer you would not normaly do, that is entrapment. If they step out from an ally and start offering you free samples of cocaine, then you take it and they bust you for posetion, that is entrapment. If you come up to the same cop and start asking for it, that's not entrapment. That's you soliciting illegal drugs. He was just standing there. Looking like a drug dealer isn't illegal, is it now? Nope. You just assumed. the RIAA is just assuming that they are volating copy right laws. The ISP isn't pushing it. Even if it was teh FBI sitting their hosting the files, it wouldn't be entrapment. It's not like they went into IRC and started telling people about their "cool" new archive. Dumb ass.
