ext3 without -j (journal mounting option) is no more than a ext2 partition and -j with defaults of 2 to 4 seconds of commit is just pushing luck for AC blackouts as for xfs, it repairs itself without external tools :) p.s. and just for the record: I have used so far ext3, ext2 and xfs partition types for / and data partitions and to tell the truth I dont like ext2 at all because I get errors too often. Unlike it, xfs has never failed me except once, when I had to mount a partition readonly to repair it (still debugging this case) ext3 without -j is just the same although my brain didnt realize it until repair to the partition (brain still intact) was fruitless. ext3 with -j was slower than my granma.

Free Software is a winner once more. Alas, not everywhere. I live in a neighboring country, Bulgaria, and it looks like our last government made a life-contract with MS for our schools and state administration. Corruption, you will ask, yes, a contractor which is in close relation to the government supplied all the MS products and there was no public auction for this contract. The MS products were even bought at higher than normal prices. And one more thing: There are computers in the state administration somewhere in smaller towns, that can only run DOS, but they still have bought MS WINXP for these PCs. And the contract being for life means as long as MS suppllies products our children will be forced to use Windows at school and call themselves computer-skilled. For me it is the worst nightmare. Go go go, Free Software Macedonia! I wish you more success!

If you look through the news in the past 5 years everyone of you will notice that young people with extraordinary brain abilities are coming to life all over the world! This is the proof that the New RACE is coming! People who are smarter and better than us! Humans are evolving like they have been doing it since the creation of life! I hope these kids understand that wars are evil and stop them unlike the normal guys (us, the people who take at least 25 human years to get a university degree) who think fighting and wars are normal thing!

I wish all the representatives ot the new human race success in the betterment of mankind!
    Good luck!

Come on, GTK2 apps run even on a twm and they are beautiful enough even for the enterprise! and the app will learn as smooth in KDE, GNOME, XFC and all other window managers. It is just a GUI for linux sake, why coding for specific desktops (using kdelibs, gnome-ui, etc) when you can just code with a toolkit like GTK2 and QT and install a few GUI-only libs on the user machine.
