I have been using vista since it was longhorn. The aero thing is better than XP blue theme but seriously it's a usability nightmare. And no, it is NOT faster. In theory it should be but it's just not.
Opera supports quite so many architectures and OSes including consoles (Wii anyone?) and Mobile phones. The so called market share thing could be true about Desktop but it doesn't hold water in all cases so Website DO need to work with Opera, period.
and it also allows microsoft to deny kernel space to drivers it doesn't like by not signing it since all the functionality is not available in usermode. Why does quake3 runs on Xp and not on vista with the exact same hardware and exact same drivers? Oh now the old drivers which actually supported OpenGL run in usermode.
I haven't read the article but he could be talking about rest of the world. I don't know about US but voice call being unused is true in parts of asia and europe and data use will only grow by time.
There is a difference between threatening to sue and actually suing. While most of he big players inluding MS do threaten to sue, in most cases they don't. Unless of course if that is about breaking their DRM scheme which could actually harm their business which happened most recenetly.
I totally agree. However doesn't it make the encryption useless? What's the whole point? essentially if a reader can read (and clone) the RFID then how is it secure than the previous one anyway?
What I think they should've done was to put the private key on the passport (unreadable once written) and public key in their database. Now what the the RFID should transmit is the date of birth, name and other info encrypted by the private key in the RFID itself which can be verified by the public key that they already have. Since the private key is unreadable but is used to encrypt the public information so it could be easily verified.
I think the whole point is that the failure is much more predictable than what is of a rotating media aka harddrive. Flash has a given life and is far less likely to fail before that.
Looks BS to me. I am running vista 5600 and it says that "Your browser does not appear to vulnerable to this particular exploit."
Maybe it is specific to XP?
You gotta be kidding. I work on simulators and emulators for a living and I know well there is no freakin way that an application could know if the emulator doesn't want it to know. Every single register and memory location can be virtulized making a OS blind. They may try to use certain hacks to know (software do this all the time to figure out if any system level debugger aka softice is memory resident) but it is a losing battle for any software or in this case an OS.
Where turtles can live hundred of years (supposedly even after mutation), snails are less likely to reach the mentioned teenage. In summarty the show needs a change of name.
In Vista, LUA's are mandatory and inescapable.
I say BS. Just disable the UAC and vista acts just like XP in every aspect.
Neither Macbook pro nor thinkpad is top-of-the-line.
Another reason is to make the work feel more risky thus exciting.
So I don't deserve to use free software because I use non free hardware? Tell me more
Why would someone tattoo their name where noone will ever see it, given that he is a geek

For the same reason that I don't hate garbage. I do have to deal with the stink and it would be nice if I don't have to.

They already started using such number plates for all newly registered vehicles since august of this year. Make no mistakes, RFID is here to stay.

I read somewhere that non-negotiable agreements are really hard if not impossible to enforce.
I don't think that the certain implementation of Wii you talk about is legally sellable in US of A
I hope this helps the US catchup with rest of the world in terms of cellular technology. Though it could make the handsets more pricey

It's Pakistanis and not Pakastanis. Use Firefox 2.
I searched but couldn't find the exams nor the braindumps for the certification on mcp site.
So mainly you are saying that they should commit suicide?

Or is it what they are already doing?
Why don't you enable that encryption key on you wireless power router, Oh wait.
that might give a whole new meanings to msblaster
