Tell her to spend the year getting a master's degree in mathematics. At that point, she is eligible to teach at a two year college. I have a high school teaching license in science but after 1.5 years I gave up for pretty much the same reasons. Because I have a master's degree in physics, I started teaching at a community college. So much better! The students grow up over night, you don't deal with parents regardless of the students age, and you can kick any trouble makers out of the class. I'd never go back to a high school! Lots of jobs for math at two year colleges.
Agreed. Just like I require all apps to be available in punched-card versions just in case those pesky "magnetic" drives fail! I need a hard copy of everything!
At the college I teach at (physics and engineering by the way), our majors pay a hefty lab fee on top of a hefty equipment fee (yeah, I can see the silliness of that). Those Shakespeare scholars do not have either charge. Lab equipment and facilities are well covered already.
American students just aren't stupid enough yet. Let's send them out into the world with a solid grounding in the supernatural rather than science. Politicians have to be the dumbest people on the face of the Earth. !
Apple includes features that actually work when the product is released, not half-cooked or fantasy features for the sake of making a bigger list. The most ridiculous thing about Motorola's product is the lack of real, rather than "real soon now" features and the poor quality and testing of the features it actually has. Rushed and sloppy. No excuse for that.
A joke, right? Have you ever seen the spectrum of an incandescent bulb? It is overwhelmingly infrared (heat) with huge masses of red light. The other colors fall off rapidly. Almost a very steep straight line downward after red in fact. We use incandescents in our beginning Physics labs as one of the samples while learning to use a spectragraph.
CFLs are much more distributed across the spectrum but have a strong green lines. LCD lights are all over the place depending upon the brand.
All of that being said, it is not the government's job to legislate intelligence. If people want to waste energy running these old bulbs and waste even more replacing them all the time, fine! It is, as government always forgets, THE CITIZEN"S MONEY to waste anyway THEY want!
Actually, the correct names are "North Seeking Pole" and "South Seeking Pole" shortened to North pole and South pole. The North (seeking) pole of the compass needle actually does point north. In the arctic, a standard hypothetical test monopole is repelled, making it north.
But pedophilia is a federal offense.
Taking the photos of children in their bedrooms and then "enjoying" and sharing them... That counts as pedophilia.
You indicate that you also teach physics. Instead of just patching on technology because you think you need to, be constructive.
Go over to Vernier or Pasco and start looking at the tools for interactive learning. At my school, we make extensive use of computers and sensors in our physics and physical science classes. The students are happier, the technology is actually doing something useful, and it allows you do do much more in less time.
I also create PowerPoints for all of my classes as well as create a class site using Blackboard software.

You mean "Back to the future." Physical disks are just so yesterday. All my HD is in downloaded digital form sans silly disk.
No, Thunderbolt is the released product name create by Intel. Light Peak was the pre-production working name only.

You mean like General Electric that paid a whopping ZERO in taxes?
Just ignore the Visigoths storming the seven hills. We're Number One!!

" full-spectrum incandescents"

I buy the vast majority of my albums on vinyl, even at a 5 or 10 dollar premium mainly because I love having a permanent physical copy,
I punch out my code on cards with an old IBM 026 keypunch because I love having a permanent physical copy...
