Wow! We can relate-our son Josh was born at 28 weeks and spent 2 months in the NICU (and major props to Research Medical Center-KCMO!). That was June 2000. In the interim, he did have 2 cases of pneumonia (no thanks to the RSV contracted by some idiot bringing into the NICU-6 babies were affected as well), and the 1st 3 years were a bit challenging developmentally. Now, he's just like any other kid, and progressing just fine. Hang in there-you guys WILL get through this. Will keep you in our prayers! Mike

I guess at that point, we could burn Ann Coulter...

    Amen to that!

I used to diss Macs, calling them "Macintrash" (of course, this WAS pre-OSX). However, I've been using Macs since 2001, and am generally happy with them (certainly more than Windows, although I am not particularly anti-MS). I was also a Linux geek of sorts, happily putzing around with OSS and trying to set uptime records for my home server (personal record: 437 days-then we had a neighborhood outage-and no UPS!). What changed me to Macs for my "work" computer, unlike you in having paying clients-was having children . Hmmm, let's see, do I alter the kernel to eke out a little performance-or read a bedtime story to the kids? If you answered "yes" to the former-you are a geek! (and probably unmarried or soon to be divorced-no wife would stand long for that!). That's not to say Linux doesn't have its place-and frankly Ubuntu and Edbuntu are pretty nice! But like you said earlier, Macs "just work". So, to summarize:
Macs are for work (and creating)
Windows is for play (games) and catching the latest virus
    and Linux is for tweakin'

    Take care!

I'm having a '70's flashback here-but there was a porno movie which involved a secret agent who had his penis replaced after a mission went horribly wrong. If I remember correctly, they called him "Steel Awesome". Imagine the trailer:
Steel Awesome, a libido barely alive.
Ladies and Gentlemen, we can rebuild him, we have the technology.
We can make him better than he was: longer, harder, faster.
