But will there be links to free songs from my favorite artists? Jimi Hendrix, Blue oyster Cult, RHCP, John Frusciante, Incubus, Kiss, GNR, Mars Volta, ect. None of them are free and independent and they all have great songs that I love. So I buy CDs and put up with it because I want them. Until CDs are never available I will buy them but there are main stream artists that I love and will support. Sure someone may say they sound like RHCP but I have yet to hear anyone on GarageBand.com that does.
Except for the fact they have enough info then to apply for cards, and completely screw me over... If someone got their hands on a just part of the database everyone one of them would be completely screwed if the government did not say oops we messed up. At this way the current leader is going with general war affairs I'm gonna say we would not be too high on the list of telling the public that something wrong happened. I doubt that Bush really wants to add that to his list of mistakes. No it is not Bush that controls it but it is his branch that helps with it so he should take the blame... I for one would not like any of my info to fall into hands that will abuse the info, weather it be criminals or business (the same to me most of the time anyways it seems).
Plus in the description it says it is not just emails, it is Social, email, and phone. But it has got to include your address and birth date, and other info because I know I get mail from the government about my loans from them.
I'm not too sure if it will end up like everyone using google spreadsheet. But to get all the functionality and keep costs down it may be something like that. I kinda see it as an office will have web servers, one, two, however many they need. And they will have things like google spreadsheet and google docs that the employees can use internally so even if the internet connection goes down they still can work. Plus keep their data safer on the network. I'm gonna say it will be much easier to secure the data and make sure no one else compromises it internally then having it go through the pipes of the interwebs.
Chinese children tend to be pushed alot by there parents Nigerian same as above indian same as above
so if you feel a classroom with Chinese or Indian kids (say about 60) they will tend to preform better then 60 English children. I kinda agree that children are pushed harder, except that it is used as a stereotype. I do quite well in school because my mother pushed me, and I'm a white guy. A lot of the problem is that the students are not motivated by their parents and view school as something they have to stick around till they can drop out. Many don't realize that without a high school and college education they will end up just like their parents working paycheck to paycheck. But they are not taught things like this and not pushed to do their best in school.
Your serious about WOW? I don't see that being in history books ever. Sure it might be a great game but there is no way I'd rank it in the 50 best tech products. That goes along with the other software on that list I don't think iTunes is all that great either. Sure it is convenient but it is nothing with out the iPod. I would not put the iPod however were it is IMHO. I think the list is way off.
Ok, I've re read your post again and I think I've come to understand your point quite a bit better. It is not that my room mate bought a copy of windows though but since it is technically a "pirated" version he could get in trouble. However he knows nothing of this and all he really wanted his friend to do was remove all the crap that had built up over the year he had the computer. He gives it to a friend who knows something about computers and in a day or two he gets it back and it is working like it is brand new. So he goes off on his merry way and does not think twice about it because he does not know that anything would be wrong with it in the first place. Thus it is not that he knows he is buying stolen material it is that he is receiving it without knowing anything about the product. Would you be in trouble for buying something you thought was legit and did not know was stolen? I think that they would have a hard trouble getting you in trouble like that because of the fact that you just did not know it was stolen. But correct me if I'm wrong because I don't know laws like that too well.
I'm saying it is hard for non/. folk to understand what a pirated version of windows is... All he knows is his friend fixed his computer. He does not know how but he knows that it is now working again so he is happy.
But average Joe does not know what differs a pirated version from the real deal. My room mate has XP installed and all he knows is his friend back home fixed his computer, but it is not a real copy or install and he does not understand that. He tried to the the MS genuine verification thing and it failed and I tried to explain that to him but he just does not understand.
There are quite a few people on my campus who don't even own a computer. They live in the computer lab checking out myspace and facebook so that other people can't print out things. But then turn around and spend their money on drugs.
I for one will continue to buy CDs from bands I like because it is a pain to go to the concerts and normally costs more than their CD. Sure I'd like to go to the concert but where I live I have a two hour drive or more just to get to any major venue for a well known band and then their are local bands and I do go to them but buy CDs that they have too. I think CDs are great they allow me to hear the band where ever... I can't really see going to a concert for every band I like or might like.
I know that old school pen and paper are going down... It saddens me too. I got into it when it was hitting that curve down. Since I've been to college I have yet to find a game of D&D around except for one, but they are not accepting any more people into it because they have enough now... I'd love to find some people and play. D&D to me was like legos, I could do anything, create anything, and have the coolest designs done up while playing it. Now that is gone and I don't have any more legos:(
I just think that if enough of them push google into a corner that google will react with it's search engines... I can see it now, every network that is fighting against google will end up being taken off of their search engine so no one can find them through google. I think that right there would seriously change their mind on what the media companies should do. Although I don't like that idea, but since it is a service they offer I could see it happening. But that would be a sad day...
If I buy the license then where is the copy for myself that I need to agree to, if I'm not mistaken I have not agreed to anything because I never saw a copy that I had to agree to in order to listen to the music.
I agree... During part of my spring break I came back early and the net was down, so I read a book, watched TV, played video games, and played guitar... Lack of internet connection does not stop me from having fun while avoiding that paper that is due... Plus the fact that I will be up till two or three in the morning with or with out an internet connection so it still does not make me go to sleep earlier to get up for class earlier.
Except that when I live in the middle of nowhere and there is only dial up and cable if I want broadband I have to choose the one and only company out here. Plus the fact that from the article it appears as if the companies did not come out and say "Hey all these sites are blocked." Now if an ISP wants block content based on the fact that it is illegal or it is spam I can kinda see why that would be nice. But they should have to come out and tell you everything they are blocking so I can argue about it if something on that list is not what it appears to be. Espically the spam part because there are some sites that are considered spam and people may still use them. Like the freaking weather bug... I hate that thing but my grandparents and my parents have to have it for some reason... Many people would consider it spyware but not some... Its a very touchy subject, but when I drop pay that bill I should also be getting what they promised to me. If they say I will have 2megs up and down then I should have that and when I get throttled back because I go over one meg I will complain because they told me two megs not one and I should be charged less for that. Now if they throttle me because I go over two so that I only use two megs then that is fine.
But that will never happen when big oil companies have their hands in the government... Not only will they get their way but they will find a way to screw the consumer yet again.
I agree, with dell's sales they have a massive influence in the market. So they can go around to companies saying, "Well the first one to come to this price with drivers for Windows AND Linux gets the deal of us ordering 1 million mobos from them." I'm sure some companies would shape up pretty quickly then and figure a way to make linux drivers for people that work. Because once people who actually get that mobo and run linux find out it does not work, complain, get computer repaired or replaced dell will come out going "Now fix this in a week or we drop you and go to the next competitor."
And your way seems illogical to me so I guess you will have to just live with it while we celebrate Pi day on 3/14. Plus I could celebrate it on 22/7 because I don't really care how the date is written.
I don't understand what was so funny... I live with my parents still? I go to college and I don't live off campus yet but I don't understand what is funny about living with your parents though...
Plus the fact that you get a copy of windows so you can reinstall and you don't have to worry about crapware messing up your system. So down the line you can reinstall from that and load your drivers again w/ out having to uninstall crapware again or have it mess up your computer to force you to do it all over again.
I agree with this. The huge reason why I don't use itunes is because of the exessive DRM and the fact that any other MP3 player I buy can not work with it. If the DRM was to go away and made so I can use my mp3 player that is not an ipod then I would use it because it is fairly nice and it works. Also though they need to make it so that when I fire it up it does not make my computer come to a crashing halt. I tried it as a music player and I hated it... It just runs so slow to me and I've got a decent computer, it is only a year old... I can't understand why my room mate has to close everything out just to sync his ipod up and get music on it it is kinda a pain if you ask me.
I leave my CDs out at school in my dorm room and any of my room mates could walk up can take them. Just because they are on my desk does not mean I'm leaving them out for people to copy. Is that making them available. Someone breaking in and stealing my CDs or mp3 player is that making it available?

I understand, and I don't want them to go down that path either, but I still see it as a very prominent option for them...
I for one will continue to buy CDs from bands I like because it is a pain to go to the concerts and normally costs more than their CD. I'll just have my mom do them, she works at H&R block anyways so I get them done for free each year.
