This is a great day! The FSM will be proud to see that with the growing nuumber of Pirates in the world the Earth's temperature will begin to reverse it's present course!
I know my son will love this (OK, me too). He has been asking me to get him a robot kit. But I'll probably have to get two kits so I don't take over his project:-)
Then robot wars!
Oh, yeah: I for one welcome our robotic overlords...
Marge: I'm worried about the kids, Homey. Lisa's becoming very obsessive.
Homer: I know. And this perpetual-motion machine she made today is a joke! It just keeps going faster and faster. Lisa! Get in here. [Lisa walks in] In this house, we obey the laws of thermodynamics!
It doesn't help that this one company runs the telephone, cable TV and internet access for the entire county, and they refuse to offer internet access via cable for faster speed.
Owned: I'm not going to count my Atari 2600:-), but I will count my Atari 1200XL! I learned LOGO and PILOT, and still got to play all of the games that were popular on the Atari 400/800!
Operated: Now my Dad had a few Apples by then, mostly Apple ][ series (e, +), so I got to use those.
Once I got into high school, he gave me an Apple//gs... that was schweet!
If Yahoo is successful, maybe Google will consider this...
Since Verizon is trying to get Google to pay for use of their network (I don't agree with this happening, but for the sake of the argument keep reading), maybe they could consider becoming partners and Google could offer a free month of DSL through Verizon as one of the incentives...which could possibly bring more Google users to Verizon as customers...
If this happens, I better get credit for the idea.
This has been quoted many times in the past few years:
"They that can give up essential liberty to obtain a little temporary safety deserve neither liberty nor safety."
Benjamin Franklin, Historical Review of Pennsylvania, 1759
P.S. I was being sarcastic. Although creating a policy banning Windows WOULD decrease the amount of hacking that occurs.
I would have to say that I enjoy the dominance that M$ has achieved. If it weren't for them and their clueless followers my Macs would be at risk.
Banning M$ would just change the target from windoze to the next most popular OS. We are all at risk, just not all equal targets.
Though I must say that trying to secure windoze against vulnerabilities is like wearing green camouflage in an urban environment. It may be worthless, but at least your trying.
In the early 90's th U.S. declassified the bunker under the Greenbrier resort in WV - http://www.atomictourist.com/green.htm - and while not as big as the U.K. city, it's open for tours...
Is it coincidence that this is an eel catfish?
The similarity between this fish and the FSM's Noodly Appendage should be enough evidence for ANYONE to see that the FSM is the one true creator.

I hope they don't discontinue the discount as a result of the Slashdotting...

But did spacetelescope.org pay Verizon to deliver the content to Verizon DSL users?
Mod me 'Off-Topic' - I don't care! It's still funny to me.

Ahhh... I overlooked that. It makes sense now :-)
Time for another pot of coffee.
This is really neat and everything, but what purpose does it serve putting it here?
Not all areas have the same deals that the metropolitan areas have. I wish I could get DSL for less than $30/month. Check this out:

I remember hearing about this a couple years ago... never saw it released in the U.S., but it sounds like the idea (rightfully) didn't die...

They're trying to offset the costs of the wiretaps, and taking a swing at Google, who isn't playing nice with government requests, at the same time.
Anything can make sense if you look for the conspiracy angle.
What if the terrorists can do this (see figure 3): ASCII Stereograms
The Flying Spaghetti Monster proves once again that evolution does not happen by chance! This man must be a pirate, or a Pastafarian at a minimum!
