    Now, accusations have been levied that a consulting firm hired to help the government hand over the spectrum may have acted improperly and discouraged potential bidders by suggesting that any winning bid would have to pay $50 million in annual fees, in addition to the auction price.

    It is question of ethical practices whether it is related to 9/11 or not. And the question is if these charges are true, whether we could trust this consulting firm for any business.

    Yes, Probably, a single line of code might fix it. (And I won't even call it a bug.)

    But before getting over this, I want to say kudos to gcc developers who have taken care to warn about this.

    I don't want government employees listening to MP3s while at work. They are slow enough as it is.

    Hell no...At least they used to be in their seat to listen music. Now I have to run around pantries, coffee shops and pubs. :P

    OOPS, forgot to mention, HCL in India also has launched a similar product last month. It looks cute, but I was not very happy with 2GB of flash.

    It costs 12000 (less than 350 US$... Thought the TFA reports it 13990, The price tag I saw was Rs 12000 in their outlets.).

    I could be wrong...but I am not too sure I understand how SOM, another kind of Object Model, simplifies building an Operating System.

    Linux Desktop environment use bonobo implementing some of its services to achieve reusability and that too is not universal. (Gnome uses it). And, though not often, messed up interfaces could prove to be counterproductive.

    IMHO, a good disciplined approach could produce solid architecture, providing robust environment. Though unrelated here Apache mesmerizes me, how it could achieve many concepts of OO.

    Over the years there have been endless postings on forums such as Slashdot about how microkernels are slow, how microkernels are hard to program, how they aren't in use commercially, and a lot of other nonsense. Virtually all of these postings have come from people who don't have a clue what a microkernel is

    The developing countries I have visited have very poor infrastructure to handle epidemic of this kind, coupled with lack of hygene and importance of isloation of the infected patients. While hailing these efforts, IMHO, awareness drives in developing nation could be another major concern.
