Google voice remains relevant. I don't even want to bother reading the actual post. As a user from grand central days before google voice was google voice, the service remains just as viable and vital in my day to day life. So much so I don't even want a voice plan with my cell phone but carriers won't capitulate to that request on a cell phone purchase.
1. one number rings my cell, my work desk, gmail browser windows
a. any given time, I'm 99.9 % likely to be near one of those.
2. caller filters
a. unknown numbers are sent to vmail immediately
b. friends get their own vmail greeting
c. family always rings
d. work gets routed to voice mail when I'm not on call and its not 9-5 during the week.
3. emailed notice of voicemail and texts
4. transcribed voicemail along with mp3 of voicemail
5. jobs and thus work phones come and go, cell phones come and go - the google voice # remains an ever constant
6. normal cell, outside cell reception, no call history of calls while outside reception area, gvoice shows missed calls etc once back in reception area.
The only gripe is attachments to txts/sms messages are not sent to the gvoice client on android and no notice that there was an attachment either. 80% of the time the attachment can be found in my email copy of the txt. annoying esp when mass txts about birthday parties are sent and I don't even receive notice it was dropped. Or that google would reply back and say Recipient does not receive sms, please use alternate protocol.
exp grinding levels is not indication of the ease of the game, I would assume they are referring to prenerfed dungeons and raid content that didn't baby players like the new stuff. back when the hunter epic was actually a challenge that forced you to learn your character etc.

while i understand it, I don't support it.
I will cancel my subscription once this goes into effect and already signed up for amazon prime streaming.
Been using netflix since before the dot com bubble popped and it was sad to see them have no care for the people that have supported them and made them who they are.
I bought my first laptop years ago from best buy and they opened it in front of me a did a quick power on, ran though some diags and tested the screen etc.
At first i was put back, kinda like wtf i wanted to open it up... but when i thought about that gave me piece of mind the laptop was sound.
My last two laptops have been different, i get handed the box unopened.
I remember a Microsoft beta / concept whatever device.
I recall reading about i think in early 2002 ish.
It was basically a necklace that snapped a picture every 15-30 seconds or minute.
That gave you a diary of your day.
I believe the concept was to also be able to snap a pic when needed.
This way when you got home sat down to your computer, it would download to your diary app and you could write about your day with photos.
i won't work for no overtime credit.
I have always demanded comp time or pay, no exceptions.
It's not like i sit idle at work and my managers/bosses know it so never been a problem.
You didn't really post what affordable is.
To me that's any screen sub $150 and right now there have been alot of offerings this month...
2 weeks ago there was a surge of 24inch viewsonics @ 149 ea.
last week I bought 2x 22 inch asus's for $133 each
this week i've seen a 24 inch for 199 viewsonic, and a 22 inch viewsonic for 149
watch newegg, zipzoomfly, tigerdirect, woot, slickdeals, bensbargains, fatwallet and life hackers gadget listings
why don't they just spend the money their wasting making this law on end user education which is the real problem anyways. the more you sugar code it, the worse it is when you get out in the real world.
Put this system together in Feb...
AMD 9600 quad core black box cpu -$85
Cheapest Gigabyte mobo i could find for cpu which met my specs - $65
4 gig patriot ddr3 ram $25
Powercolor 4830 with HDMI slot -$85
80g sata hdd $35
Case & ps - $40
Rebates totaled about $75 so system in total was around $260
Started off with the specs i wanted, got the normal prices, told my self i would shop around for 2 weeks, if i didnt find better i would buy at the normal price.
it's run solid and plays world of warcraft very nicely with most settings on high
MY goal was a sys with decent specs now, and then once Diablo 3 & Starcraft 2 look into buying a more powerful vid card if needed.
indeed,
my first experience with eve, had me frustrated from the get go, i was in two betas at the time, earth and beyond and eve, i went with earth and beyond, I loved that game, but it was killed by EA where as EVE has flourished.
Might want to consider pointing your boss to this thread?
And if he still wants to go forward, cover your butt, either have the email thread that you have advised him that you believe that proceeding with this plan will violate the terms of service from the companies involved. or have him sign a note indicating such.
Thank you all for your response, I've got a good list of books to read, and a wealth of suggestions and pointers. Now off to go grab copies of them and read up.
Same story for LaunchCast users.. I was an original Launch user, when yahoo bought them out, without asking me took my launch account that identified me only as a username, and took my yahoo profile to it. They also locked down features of launch and I was stuck for a year with some crappy settings until they changed things around. I also saw the loss of several good features and non mainstream music drop from the playlists.
SO just give it up, and move on, its the way yahoo runs with things.
Why not just hook a mic and record the darn class, it so much easier and practical to just record it and archive, hell bring a webcam and record the video of the class too for cry out loud.
Even the doom series was like this, you could connect another system via network to view the game, if i recall it was used to set up screens to see behind in front etc of you.
So many replies already, dont think anyone will ever see this but yest I know what your talking about....
Beta one I had the name "RunsWithKodo" for a tauren hunter (cow man for those that done play, the tauren were themed after native american culture). not a day went by that someone didnt message me and say thats a great name!
6 months after retail launch,... they nerfed me. said i was in violation... I quite the game after 2 weeks of arguing with gm's and their refusal to even talk to me. I lost my identity in the game that day, it hurt, people were randomly sending me tells asking who the hell i was and why i was on their friends list... I was an enchanter,.. we dont get nice items we can put in the ah and let the game system hawk our wares, we build a clientel of people that know our prices are fair.... I lost that that day... 5 months of building a reputable character, with a name that fit the game theme and boom, gone...
Well I guess MS won on this one, apparently the way microsoft structures it's programs is the correct and proper way and far be it for others to say or do differntly.. so are we going to see people in court getting branded as intentionaly trying to thwat investigations by hiding data because they use firefox?
