The company in January told Reuters that it was not on the block. "The company is not looking to be sold, the management is not looking to step out. It's simply not true," a Napster spokesman said on Jan. 23.

We are sad to report that the same spokesman was seen earlier today being taken out by stretcher crying, "It can't be...it's simply not true! It's not truuuuuueeee!!"
Napster will neither confirm or deny anything until the stock price hits double digits.
...posted about StarForce, a harmful technology used by game companies to restrict their customers' freedom. StarForce attempts to stop game customers from copying their property, but it has the side-effects of destabilizing and crashing the computers on which it is installed.
If I told you once, I have told you a thousand times - NEVER mess with STAR FORCE!
Microsoft would not say how many customers are affected, but said it is likely only a "small fraction" of Office users.
Well, a small fraction could still end up in the millions of users.
Hooray for the little guy with the million dollar patent. According to GeekNewz.com, Carlos Armando Amado patented it in 1990, and tried to sell it to Microsoft 2 years later. Microsoft looked into it, didn't buy it, but used its technology anyway in Excel 95-2002.
Good thing he waited.

Why are these items just for 'developing' nations? I see this as a potential item for anyone who can't afford an expensive phone. Of course there will still be the high-end models, but for the masses there will always be a need for inexpensive tech.
People drive to work, sit all day, eat high calorie meals, go home drink and eat more high calorie meals. Then they get on the internet or play games or watch TV & movies, then go to bed.

When oil was cheap there was no incentive to look at alternatives
I beg to differ, air pollution has always been a problem and many people I know would prefer to save money on fuel, no matter how cheap it was.
I understand that there may have been little incentive for most people, but there was still the concern that the oil would eventually run out and that it was not necessarily a good thing to be exporting so much oil from a chaotic Middle East, Venezuela and far away Norway.
If there is a more efficient way to produce energy, why not do it?
Why do we still drive cars that use an internal combustion engine and only get 30 miles per gallon?
Simple, with our current economy and infrastructure it is more profitable to very influential energy companies this way. And since our current President and Vice President are very close to these energy companies, you will see very little in the way of change.
Let's hope the X-prize will be a catalyst for widespread use of new types of renewable energy.
Starting with Chapter 6, the "Practical" bit from the books title starts to kick in quite strongly. If its a book with both theoretical and real world information that you want, then the coming chapters are really going to quench your thirst.
Whoa, for a minute there I thought this was a book about WINE.
In2Movies will use Arvato's new platform, called GNAB to deliver movies. GNAB adds security features onto the movies so they can't be pirated, makes sure the movie owners get paid each time a consumer on In2Movies buys a movie, and routes the movies through computers owned by In2Movies' users.
According to this article, GNAB is not really P2P. Any wagers as to how long it will be until GNAB is cracked?
There's plenty of Milhouse to go around.

Is it even possible to reverse global warming? If every bad emission was to stop today all of a sudden, would it take hundreds of years to start having an effect?
Hopefully, something can be done to slow or stop its progress. I don't see the world stopping all its emissions suddenly, maybe people will have to directly see its negative impact for them to start caring/thinking about this problem.
