For those of you just now getting out from under your rock; both the consumer and professional versions of Windows have been fully self-reliant operating systems (not a DOS-based "operating environment") since 2001 (XP release), and the professional line since the first WinNT release.
Quoth the GGP:
Please note that if your application exceeds 100,000 peak simultaneous users, you must implement Advertising as described below as one of your two options.
Well, considering libpurple (Pidgin, Adium, and Meebo) has a user base somewhere around a fuckton, they'd have to put the ads in if they wanted to used the "blessed" protocol
AFAIK, OSX is not fully 64-bit, and probably won't be until the G4s and Core (1) chips are phased out, which will likely be either 10.6 or 10.7, 10.8 being a longshot
Radiohead didn't state any specific terms, and NIN licensed theirs under BY-NC-SA, which AFAIK, means you can't profit from your movie with their music in it
I'm pretty sure that it is OSX. Watching an average FLV on a "Sawtooth" G4 PowerMac 500MHz, i'm lucky to get 3/4 speed. On my Eee (630MHz x86; Ubuntu 7.10), the same videos run just fine.
Personally, I'd keep the xandros. However, there's also a custom Debian install called EeeOS (http://wiki.eeeuser.com/debian:eeeos:home), that you can naturally strip down to your heart's content
Not quite. The OSX theme is more Safari-style brushed metal, rather than Aqua. XP and Vista each get their own (slightly different) themes. And the Linux version adapts your GTK+ icon and widget settings, to where you'd be hard-pressed to notice that it's not actually GTK+
One of a few reasons: 1)Most/all markets have a duopoly (sometimes a monopoly) situation where the other provider (usually a telco) either isin't much better, or doesn't have the same capabilities 2) While the telcos are required to allow competitors to use their lines at cost, cablecos are usually given exclusivity of an area in return for wiring the entire area (as opposed to only wiring the profitable neighborhoods), and have no such requirement to let out their lines
Note that the cablecos in my area (Insight) are generally pretty good guys, besides the typosquatting (which is easily avoided), and the alternative (ATT, formerly Bellsouth) doesn't have anywhere near the pipes (10Mb from cable vs a max of 6 from ATT), and Insight isin't known for spying for the NSA or Comcastic MIM attacks. Also, they don't seem to be offended by my SSHd.

They're all legally remixable under CC BY-NC-SA, it just happens that the 75$ package gives the music to you split up by track
You're either confused or a troll. It's HD-DVD that's out of production.
Slashdot's got a pretty open tagging system, use it.
Sounds like IIS 7 (in '08) has something called FastCGI which they used to get the better performance.
You forgot the .NET CLR (IronPython)
You must be new here
The Firefox3 betas come with a new very Mac-like theme, called Proto. I believe you can download it for Firefox2 as well

According to Wikipedia (http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/United_Technologies); United Tech (Sikorsky's parent) is based in Hartford, CT
Well, one of the side-effects of this crack is hallucinations. You've really been in a crack-induced haze for the apparent past year.
"He's pining for the fjords!"
In a way.
I hear the lead singer of Disaster Area spent a year dead for tax reasons; but you can't exactly chalk it up to human error.

It makes it quite a bit easier if you have a graphics chip built to decode MPEG2 and VC-1, like the newer Intel GMA series chips

IIRC, it's "Those who fail to understand Unix are doomed to reinvent it, poorly" Can't recall the source ATM
