I can't believe nobody has mentioned this, but Apple is a hardware company and their software OS "Just Works" largely because they have complete control over the hardware it runs on. Windows & Linux machines have hardware from any number of different companies across the planet which require different drivers or other software to work on their OS. Macs don't.
Consoles, specifically the Wii, have the advantage of new & cool interfaces which makes games feel like a new experience even if they are the same old game. Computers are stuck with keyboard and mouse because even if someone introduced new hardware, the games still have to support it and nobody wants to get locked in to a specific piece of hardware like that.
It will if they don't come out with something new & interesting soon. Even the big titles lately have just been more of the same with, maybe, some better graphics. That doesn't cut it -- at least for me.
As a software developer being sent to France this fall for some project meetings, I'd have to recommend -- you guessed it, German. I find that most of the developers I encounter overseas are German or at least German Speaking. I'm actually trying to pick up a bit of French for the trip though. High School French was so little and so long ago!
Actually, of course I encounter a lot of Indian folk (from India, not native americans:P) but usually they have a good enough grasp at english that I just have to get over their accent rather than learning another language.
I'm having a hard time finding that in any of the article links but regardless of that, maybe you should be complaining there rather than at Slashdot, which is just a simple news aggregator & forum system. It's not like anyone here has any control over the editing of the articles. Even if they did, hell, they can't even edit the summaries correctly most of the time.
Besides, the only articles I see linked are wikipedia articles -- if you saw it there and it bothers you so much, why don't you just go change it?
Lots of folks are complaining about IE8 and it's only beta too. Also, have you ever played a beta for an MMO game? The quality of the Beta can make or break the game well before its release date -- just have a look at Vanguard: Saga of Heroes.
Also, if you don't complain about glitches in beta (which is intended for bug reporting & tweaking) then they will almost certainly make it through to production, because the devs didn't necessarily know the bugs existed.
What's wrong with that? It's driving the economy by getting people to go buy a new PC when otherwise they'd be using one that's like 5+ years old by now!
Yeah, he was awful whiny about some really silly things IMO. There are lots of solutions to his problems, in particular with the USB ports.... move the mousepad 2 inches to the right... please?
SharePoint.

No, he just had a steakhouse burger from Burger King without saving a baby seal or discovering a moon that could support life first.

An agreement about porn which is anti-child? Is that like porn with rubbers?
No. The light at the end of the tunnel has been shut off to conserve energy. Thank you.
Chuck Norris can fit more than five commands on a stone tablet.
It was already described that hacking the MSI could fix the problem, that's why it's called redundant.
No kidding!
When you pay whores, you get something in return...
