Well, going against apparently what is listed on wikipedia, the few things I listed were accepted by the AP test. If you read my statement earlier, I wrote that some may be wrong and I was sure about DNA. I am 100% sure that DNA was one of the requirements of life that I needed to know for my AP test.
After some browsing on wiki's life entry, It says reproduce freely (that is their reason for saying virii is a grey area). However, if you follow that reproduction link you fill find this:
Mitosis and meiosis are an integral part of cell division.
Now, Mitosis and meiosis need genetic material to work, and that IS a fact. Once again, however, it falls in the grey area with viruses, but since it has to do this process of copying/splitting the cells, I do believe that reinforces my first statement.
It is quite clear to me that by todays definition of "life" these red microbes do not fall under that category. Key Features of life: 1.)Water 2.)Carbon 3.)DNA 4.)RNA
The article states:
Strangely, a test for DNA using Ethidium Bromide dye fluorescence technique indicates absence of DNA in these cells.
DNA is neccessary for life according to todays definition. Now that definition might be off because that information is taken from a part of my brain that hasn't been used for quite some time. But I know for a fact that DNA is part of todays life definition, therefore until the definition is changed i'm convinced that aliens haven't rained down their child spores to take over the world.
Let me continue, as my computer messes up time to time:
Taxing more and more is driving people out futher from Tennessee; and my father, a homeowner and business owner, knows what it is like to be taxed more and more. This most likely will succeed so that a.) the tennessee government can spend $10,000 on chairs (yes its true, believe me), and b.) so that everyone can afford to get taht $50,000 raise that they need to survive.
Sorry about the early post, please don't demod me for it!
I live in Memphis, Tennessee right now, otherwise known as the tax capital of the United States. Along with having the highest sales tax in the United States history (right now the state tax alone is among the highest at 7% + city taxes, county taxes, etc... sales tax is about 9.25% iirc, but there's talk about raising it closer to 9.8%). We are taxed so bad here; even our food tax is 6% - the highest in the nation!
Now they are thinking about doing this - well I'll tell you why. Our city and state government always overspends their budget and gives too many handouts; not to mention that most of those involved in our governments are criminals as proven in the FBI investigation Operation Tennessee Waltz.
Dear Santa,
Could you please give me a coffin for grandpa this christmas? The rocking chair you fired at him last year killed him, and now he's starting to smell.
Something like that, meh
3 futurama.
now come de-mod me, my kharmas low enough
does anyone remember when this happened to napster? i remember back in the day you would try to search for like papa roach and you wouldnt find anything, so you typed in poppa rowch - same phonetics, just different letters. you would keep on trying until a giant list of them would appear - then you hit the jackpot:-D. most were pretty obvious though. this will most likely just happen again, or people will stop using kazaa and go to limewire or the like.

Aren't emails on a network similar to "netsend" through command prompt, except with an ability to save old messages (and reply, etc..)? I mean thats not really email, its more of a network chat client...
it is my humble opinion that this will not take off... i saw my first commercial for it yesterday, and it was retarded... now i like pocket game machines but this one was... well... lacking... besides size, whati s the real advantage? the psp has wireless, and the ipod nano is a photo viewer as well.
i see no reason to buy it
So its a new weapon, eh? I'm pretty confident that this has been around for quite some time..
tesla coils and the like have been around since the early to mid 1900's..
Nope, not new so much...
do ya wanna get business up? dont offer goody goody music only
rap isnt all that bad, neither is some heavy metal and hard rock.. just read the lyrics, some of it is good. there was one rap song i thought oh shit its going to be a cop-killer song but in fact it was a 9 minute song talking about how this guy tried to be initiated into a gang and this guy was rapping against his gang, and how he turned himself around
exapnd your horizons
This was just a report about a business deal that happened. These games are some of the games that microsoft wants to license out to this company. For g-d sakes peope, this was just decided upon!
I think microsoft sees the success that sega had with their service and I think that he plans to do the same, but keep in mind that he too will have to license bigger, more popular games that he doesnt own, so thats another reason. Within a year or two, for up to 30$ a month people will definately do this service. I'm sure gates knows to expand the library further than what he has so far...
hahaha its so true!
its good, though, that dvd technology is progressing so fast. imagine how many movies you can put on that at full quality and full features
I just wanted to say thank you.
My IQ was rated at about 190 when I was 12
I've compiled a list of websites that you may want to spend more time on than slashdot:
http://www.mensa.org/
http://www.cerebrals.com/
http://www.smartgroups.com/
http://www.iqsociety.org/
You may feel more at home there ^_^

I am sure everyone agrees here, if that keyboard will last for a while, it is definately a good investment...

why would someone go open source if theres a closed source free version that works fine already out there?
i mean, im in favor for creating open source programs but why even bother - aMSN is adding functionality already given for free from MSN themselves...

how would this effect backward scene changes and rewinding?
Sony starts taking orders Thursday, with a price tag of 194,250 yen (US $2,263.40) in Japan including a five-per cent sales tax.
Hell, in memphis tennessee sales tax is 9.25%. i WISH we had 5%
One day (soon) there will be on-line movie stores and then people will have computers as PVRs in their home theaters - then what?
Already exists!

Now you will surely go buy that burger because you smell it too!

I haven't seen any web comic creators getting movie deals!
Is working with his own kind.... Microsoft is stupid for doing this; if they find one messup I will end my life now!
This has actually been done before, read it in Popular Science like 6 months ago... Still cool nontheless!
